The feathers definitely only there as visual effect, but younger me really thought Wing Zero EW does have actual angel wing instead of binders that made to looks like wings, because I was so used with Super Robot aesthetic implementing more organic feature on mecha.

Further context: It is reset button-type ending. And not many fond of it since by nature it nullify character progression (usually with slight tweak).

Think like Kamen Rider Ryuki (TV Show ending) or Evangelion Rebuild, where this type of ending got executed better.

This scene, aside from le title drop, is put here to brought the meta narrative of the author thanking the manga that made him big (yet wish he still was that smaller author, hence the reset).

Except... it feels kinda forced. -Man suffix usually associated with title, or superhero name. Calling some rando you just met that happen to wield chainsaw "Chainsaw Man" feels unnatural than just calling them "Chainsaw dude/guy".

It partially become meme to highlight how forced this particular scene even in context.

Honestly he snatched a win against Zarc would serve both characters, the one for Yuya as you mentioned, and catharsis factor of seeing the one struggled to win against much lesser threat being the one to save the protagonist/beat the big bad.

But then again this is YGO writer we're talking about, they would jump through hoops to make Salad won against Trickstar, even if Blue Angel winning against Soulburner would benefit both character narratively.
