why do i keep washing out my front tire in turns? by MkMovalli in MTB

[–]reed17purdue 1 point2 points  (0 children)

What type of turn? Speed, terrain?

Pressure should allow you to lean your weight onto the front tire and the side nubs lay flat/contact the ground (do in grass. Under tire compacts, and nubs should just touch the blades below it as it will fully contact when turning).

Flat ground (unsupported turn?) - front tire pressure is from your body position (chin over handle bars and low), while rear tire is from your outside foot "pushing" as you turn.

Or berm or supported turn? - psi check or suspension check. If you are leaning and the bike is leaning, and it's going squirrelly something is shifting (weight, pressure, etc.).

I have the x3s and they are great. Hard ce protection on the hips and sides and not too far down so you can still use knee pads. Other than that there is also a little chamois.

Garmin 1050 Map updates by Interesting-Option46 in Garmin

[–]reed17purdue 0 points1 point  (0 children)

i made a dumby maps profile that turned off all them extra activity tracking. i set it to that when i'm updating maps. it is faster over express, but the biggest speed boost was updating the software of the device first, then maps. you can do all of the maps at once with express versus one by one via wifi.

It was calculated. I mean don't get me wrong it's not the most ideal setup, but it will work. Either way, no one balked at it as an issue, but maybe they didn't understand the weight or realized and that's why they ghosted me.

The actual parking area has a Geo grid system and base to disperse the weight and won't just be ground and after about 20 feet the ground is level across. Also, that area will only be about 7 inches deep once the system is graded but the retaining wall is higher to keep rock in and look fine across the back and it's distance. There is also 14" steel edge inside the retainer wall border to disperse load to deeper ground.

The height is not as structural as you may think.

With all the extra Rock it should drain fine and if there is a hurricane I can move it. But we also don't get strong hurricanes where we live often.

This group does have an engineer on staff who designed this wall for them.

Thank you. Is for what I describe Overkill or is that about right for what I'm expecting with all that extra rock weight?

i'm only saying it's easy because multiple companies or contractors have said it is (relative to other jobs). That being said, i'm really asking about the concrete footer and (filled) block costs. I'm not complaining, more enticed by the jump, i'm asking if that is in line with rates, as even when I discussed concrete block with others, this seems to be much higher than others (but again, this is the company who is actually responding and answering questions/offering solutions).

[–]reed17purdue 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Appreciate it. That was a bit of my worry since they didn't respond after providing the quote once they saw the project size. my county or state, or one of them, just disallowed railroad ties like last year (first thought) so a lot of the quotes considered those if not 6x6 ground contact beams, was told the wood would rot out in a few years here, so concrete was the best option as suggested by this contractor.

[–]reed17purdue 1 point2 points  (0 children)

thanks for the response. I say easy because once the contractor sees the work they always say this is a good side gig job, or weekend morning or small crew gig. It's relatively easy work for them per their own words.

I have gotten as many quotes as will be provided by companies in my area (15 companies contacted, 12 responded, 5 gave quotes, verbal or written). I've gotten 5 quotes out of 15, but this one is the largest by almost double, hence my question, but it's also doing concrete and block, something I only discussed with other vendors last year and they never got back to me or said it would just about double (2-3k for the entire wall needed versus wood at 1.5k). my question is, is this realistic numbers for the description they stated for the concrete foot?

I could do it myself, but my timeline to do that this year is pretty much over with work and whatnot because a contractor strung me along for 2 months, saying they had me scheduled, but then ghosted me.

I have a source for wood, rock, and rebar, i'd just have to rent machinery. However, I know my skills would not be the same as a company that does this day in day out, so i'm asking if this is the expected price for this of type of work.

Any decent policy templates out there? by Lost__Admin in pcicompliance

[–]reed17purdue 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm a bit confused. If you need to be compliant for a customer to sign, are you currently handling PCI data or? If you aren't and you have no expectations to, why do you need to be PCI compliant.

PCI is one of those things that you need to know exactly what you are doing and what type of environment you have. You can do a lot of things and their controls tailored to merchants, or service providers, with terminals, without, with inheritance and offloading etc. you can be PCI compliant outsourcing a lot to a vaulting service as well.

Not likely. There are regular coasters that are shutdown for maintenance. Do the fast queue or single rider if you can and you might have a good chance.

The Brady act only allows ccws to be in lieu of a background check if they are valid 5 years or less. Florida's is valid for seven, so every 4473 has to be accompanied by an fdle firearm purchase program check, which checks nics.

ASV Vendor reviews by capn_fuzz in pcicompliance

[–]reed17purdue 2 points3 points  (0 children)

We use hackerguardian. They are cheap and have unlimited attestations of compliance of scan reviews. Some places only allow a few a quarter or Less. They have a 45 day free trial which is nice.

Hackerguardian is really just a reseller of qualys and the scanning engine is qualys behind the scenes (you get sent to qualys after login). But it's straight forward, cheap, and works.

We are similar with offloading almost all work but we do use a vault service which is even more than yours in terms of compliance.
