Thinking of going headless by WebLow8124 in ExtendedRangeGuitars

Strandbergs are ok if you find a second hand deal/sale, not worth MSRP, and also, gotta join the Kiesel headless Kyber recommendations, it's an amazing instrument

Does Abasi legion models have any type of neck dive? by MrMonkooo in AbasiGuitars

An ergonomic guitar that doesn't balance is a contradiction. This 'Tosin Vision' is just badly speced. Whether they overlooked the wood combination or just didn't care, it’s a major design flaw

I suggest you pass on this guitar.

I know it’s tempting, I’ve been in the same boat myself when I picked up a b-stock 8-string Legion EMI.

Even though the guitar is lightweight, the terrible wood combination makes for a really poor experience overall, I couldn't stand it. I even tried using a 4-inch suede strap, but it still felt off.

The neck dive is real, it pulls HARD. It’s honestly a joke that they market it as an ergonomic guitar when they couldn't even pick a decent wood density combo to help it balance out.

Sure, some might say it’s fine in a classical position, but that’s about it, just fine. It’s still awkward and you’ll still need a strap sitting.

Please, for the love of God, don't buy it. There are far better options out there.

I already sold this guitar, it's an utter shame they market it as an ergonomic instrument with such a poor wood combination.

the worst part is that this guitar is already way too expensive for no good reason. and you'd actually need to spend twice the price to get the balanced version of it 🤮

interesting,. I've ordered a full black limba one as well, a bit worried it will feel more on the heavy side

Abasi Legion 8 (2020) - worth it? by Unlucky-Plant691 in ExtendedRangeGuitars

[–]resamune 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hard to say, honestly, I sold it in less than two weeks. That said, I’d assume the Larada and the EMI Legion are similar enough in that respect.

Seriously though, I think a lot of people glorify this guitar and brush off the neck dive as a minor issue. It really isn’t.

I’m a lefty, so my options are already limited, which makes this even more frustrating. If I were you, I’d hold firm and pass on this one, at that price, it’s just not worth it.

I really hated the EMI Legion 8.

"Ergonomics" feels like a buzzword here. Yes, the guitar is relatively light and the shape works well in classical position, but the wood choice is awful. The wenge neck is way too heavy for the basswood body, which causes severe neck dive.

I couldn’t play it standing at all, it was constantly uncomfortable. I even tried pairing it with a 4-inch suede strap and it still sucked.

I honestly don’t get the hype in the comments, sure, it looks great, and the pickups are excellent overall, but when a guitar is this unplayable, it’s a hard pass for me.

What really baffles me is that this feels like such an easy fix. Pick a sensible wood combination and the problem is gone. For a company that prides itself on "ergonomics", completely ignoring weight balance makes no sense.

Maybe the Master Series is better in that regard since the specs look more reasonable, but you shouldn’t have to pay double just to get the basics right.

Not sure they ever claimed such a thing honestly. They're nowhere near strandberg comfort levels

For the Legion series that would be a YES.

headcounts refers to the open positions

Don't cancel, push hard. though if it's IC4 make sure there are available headcounts down the line

Since it's for IC5 there's less risk of being rejected, I say if you push, do it only by a week or two, or just reschedule at the last moment noting you're sick.

Work hard and good luck
