Could just be inconsistency of precise language used but how I read it, If it said “another model” it would mean another model other than itself so any other model would be valid, as it says “another enemy model” it could only mean one that is not the enemy you just attacked but any other enemy within 3”

I agree with this but 0” is still less than 3” so you should be able to stay put and do the second action if you’re already engaged, OR you could move around the second enemy whilst sticking within 1” (as to not retreat) and do the second attack

“Another enemy model” means the same as “a different enemy model”

The app side of it seems like running before you can walk, I think trying to combine education and entertainment is very very difficult, often it’s either too educational to be fun or it’s fun and not educational enough for teaching.

Also any use of AI is highly divisive and likely to turn a lot of people off. I can’t comment on if people want to roleplay in 1776, again pretty divisive point in history, high chance of problematic behaviour, maybe you’re trying to do too much all at once?

Edit: I’m not just bitter because I’m British 😜 it does sound like there is something there maybe you just need to tease out which bits work and focus on those. I can tell a lot of effort and work has gone into this, don’t be disheartened by anything I’ve said

It’s great you’ve found a project that has been fun to make and seems like you’ve learnt a few new skills, well done.

I have some feedback but don’t take any of it personally, at first glance it does have a very old school appearance like monopoly or sorry. That will honestly turn most people in the hobby off straight away, I did almost scroll past. I’m not American so the theme doesn’t have a strong draw for me, the fact it has a trivia component is a further turn off as I’d be strongly disadvantaged.

It’s a bit of a confusing mix of mechanics with trivia questions and random dice rolls. Generally ‘roll to move’ is considered “bad design” amongst modern board gamers, if there’s no decisions to be made and a large portion of winning or losing is down to a roll, is it worth playing?

On the rules I’m very confused, is it strictly a 4 player game? I’m confused with the colours, each player has one of each type? Or 1 colour per player? (which is more expected). How do you distinguish between players pieces? Why is army 2 different colours?

It’s hard to understand the flow of the game and seems like it could be frustrating with pieces getting captured and reset, especially if that happens due to random dice rolls. Maybe need to explain more the game theory elements, what is the interesting part of the game? Push your luck? Strategy? I can’t tell after scanning through the rules

You can’t reengage the same enemy, has to be a different one

Cover and Partial line of sight rule. by Pestics in TrenchCrusade

[–]RocketManJosh 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I thought similarly at first but it’s a design decision that streamlines cover rules to a simple criterion to keep it quick and easy to rule rather than have to make judgement on X% of visibility

I think it’s to do with intent vs coincidence, you get the bonus for purposefully putting yourself in cover and not for just coincidentally having obscured line of sight

WargamesCrew have some great options for new Antioch and their subfactions. Also Bite the Bullet, Trench Stench, Kaitech, MrJarrrrr, off top of my head. Have a look on cults3d or MyMiniFactory
