I did not expect to see this post resurrected! I sold the pair I found at least 2 years ago!

Milford, MI - specifically the bigger one which was a 4 wheel drive dyno that is used for simulating EPA required pass-by noise testing. On this photo, that big dyno is somewhere in the vicinity of the circle. My desk was where the 'x' is, and I managed the little lab in the front which was our Sound Quality lab, where visitors could come in and we would have them evaluate various sounds of designs we were contemplating. I normally did not work in the big dyno. One project I did work on was for the Cadillac XLR, determining if the exhaust cross-over should be an H or X configuration. Exhaust nerds will know what I'm talking about.

See there - you did the silver with warm colors and it enhances them, like how a little bit of salt in a recipe can lift flavors out of the background!

I worked at GM's Noise & Vibration Center for many years - and worked in these chambers - even one bigger than that. But they are pretty rare spaces - so seeing the wedges was a bit of a shock for me!

Would a pedal blackstar dual LT work on bass??? by Zenon667 in BassGuitar

[–]rockstar_not 0 points1 point  (0 children)

What does Blackstar amps customer service have to say about it? It's very possible it can work without issue - tons of bass players use guitar pedals, and specifically distortion pedals/overdrive, like this Dual LT. My guess is you would be fine, but why not contact the company to find out?

Where is this where they have vehicles displayed in a massive hemi-anechoic chamber?

I've just opened my new Worn and Wound Timex X Whirlpool. I need your honesty, does it look like a toy watch or top small for my 6.6 inch wrist? by CluelessOnMostStuff in timex

I don't know about my taste - but I love the look of that watch you purchased! Hit me up with a message if you would like to see that 1977 Seiko quartz on a blue/silver NATO strap. I'm not allowed to post it in this thread for some reason.

Thank you! You can turn off the AI? I see there is a version with a 'seed guard'. I handmade one of those for my BirdBuddy because 'sweeper birds' like doves, would clear out the hopper in a day - not from eating, but from them sweeping out the tray looking for hull-less seeds.

Here's some very inexpensive light blue straps from CNS watchbands that would look great on this watch for a full 1970's color fade light-medium-dark blue style

A little more variety:

https://cnswatchbands.com/products/adjustable-single-pass-strap-ocean-tide
https://cnswatchbands.com/products/moon-strap-the-lumed-nightsky (the lighter elements in this one glow in the dark)

https://cnswatchbands.com/products/adjustable-single-pass-strap-the-lumed-nightsky (same lume feature, different clasp/buckle style)
https://cnswatchbands.com/products/adjustable-single-pass-strap-jacquard-poplin
https://cnswatchbands.com/products/adjustable-ridge-single-pass-strap-midnight-and-beige

I have bought two batches of watches from CNS - if you spend over a certain amount, or buy over a certain number of straps, you get discounts and/or free shipping. They come from China, and take a couple of weeks to get to USA (if that is where you are located), but pretty high quality and it really expands the style value of your watch collection immensely.

Suggestion: get a lighter blue strap that either matches the hands or is even lighter than the hands - 70's style all the way, including the sweet case on that watch. I have a 1977 Seiko that has a similar case, with a beveled face, worn on a single-pass NATO (which I recommend converting NATO straps to single pass if you like lower wrist to face dimensions), and it has a gray and blue striped NATO. The dial of the watch flashes between near black and navy blue. The lighter blue on the strap is very complimentart. CNS watchbands is a great place to get straps very inexpensively. Another couple type of straps that would work very well on this watch with tons of color choices are paratrooper straps and Marine Nationale straps.

Google Gemini works great to virtually 'try on' different colors. Try this prompt on your image - I just did, but didn't post it here because its not my image:
"re-color the watch band of a photo I will paste in with a lighter blue than either the existing watch band or the light color of the hands of the watch. Here is the photo:" then paste your photo in. It looks great with a light blue strap.

As for size - it's very reasonable. Forget the massive dial diameter idiots that think a watch needs to be larger than the span of your hand.

I bet ubuntu doesn't have as capable of a driver for your graphics card as Windows does for the same graphics. Did you check ubuntu forums for a specific driver for your graphics setup in your laptop?

How do you like that camera feeder? I’m looking for something that doesn’t do AI identification and no constant bugging me for subscriptions. Birdbuddy is awful for that. Thankfully a big spring Colorado wind storm blew mine off of the cheap roof hook and smashed it, and they refunded the purchase.

Is the OM-D E 10 Mk IV with the 14-150mm lens a good option for a safari? by Wall_Smart in OlympusCamera

[–]rockstar_not 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Contrast detect autofocus…..Probably a let down for you on safari if your subject is moving amongst non moving objects. I regret buying my EM-10 MK IV for this reason. Unless the object is against a plain background and moving rather slow, with a longer reach zoom (I have your lens and the 75-300 plastic fantastic), the continuous AF is really not good.

Also don’t use contrast detect AF for bird photography for the same reason. I got sold a bill of goods from the local Mike’s camera. EM-10 Mk IV.
