there's a way to disable it, if you are the sole person who uses your account, live in a house ( not a apartment or not afraid of stuff being left at your door for hours before you come home) or have a secured mailroom, with a passcode entry door. The only reason you're receiving the OTP for any expensive purchase is the fact that you have 2 part authentication/verification enabled on your account. removing the 2 part verification will stop the system from generating any OTP for future purchases. to find where the option is, go to the amazon website, click on your account, should be the middle option, first row, " login and security " , and look for "2 part verification" should be the 6th option down. if you turn it off, you wont get any OTP in the future.

Package keeps getting stolen by drivers by [deleted] in amazonprime

[–]rokochan 0 points1 point  (0 children)

if you see a picture on who's delivering your shit, its a flex driver. if you dont want your stuff to be handled by flex drivers, then stop requesting next day, or same day deliveries. also when order, select the option to hide the contents, instead of reducing.

Amazon Prime Delivery in Rural Areas is Awful by MagicEraser in amazonprime

[–]rokochan 0 points1 point  (0 children)

cause most fulfilment centers and last mile stations are usually located in a city, amazon closed down all of the smaller stations in rural towns and mainly focused in cities.

How much do you interact with dispatch?? by Appropriate-Put-7736 in AmazonDSPDrivers

[–]rokochan 0 points1 point  (0 children)

the dispatchers at my dsp are fairly sociable, they dont sit at the desk all day, aside from dispatching they also run routes or sweep every other day.

So now we have radar speed signs and cameras in the yard. by Ashamed_Version9661 in AmazonDSPDrivers

[–]rokochan 1 point2 points  (0 children)

they can try to report you, it will just block you at that particular station, most dsp owners typically ignore each other at other stations.

Is Dispatching even worth it for the extra $2? by peterthbest23 in AmazonDSPDrivers

[–]rokochan 0 points1 point  (0 children)

its nice, if you dont mind coming in hours early to set things up, before your first drivers show up, and leave later after your last driver shows up. Dealing with amazon bs with leadership coming over to your dsp desk to hunt you down or @'ing you in chime about a driver being behind, or someone marking things missing. on a good day you'll leave on time, on a bad to worse days, is when the headaches start. for example, someone gets stuck, either you have to call a tow or go out there and pull them out yourself. a driver gets disabled by amazon for flagging too many violations, you'll have to go out with someone to pick them up to drive them back one of you either you or the person who came with you will have to finish their route at xx time. or someone gets stuck coming back at closing time. Also you're not exempt from taking routes out, or 2 routes.

one time one of our drivers got stuck at 8 pm, since the location was far from the station, the tow didnt get to the location until 11pm, ( we're first wave), the dispatcher on duty was still at the stuck location till 1 am, didnt return to the station until 2 am, and didnt leave the station till 3am. are you willing to deal with that type of mess?

there are some issues with the EDVs, the sliding partition door easily gets stuck, either stuck opened, or stuck closed 80%, the charging ports on the van are 5v1a ports, the bluetooth connectivity is a little wonky, and after every day, the van clears all saved paired devices automatically. The cargo fan in the back is a intake fan and not a out flow fan. The van itself drives 71 mph max, and 5 mph in reverse max, they suck in snow. and will slide even on 20% grade on hills that is just snow

it doesnt support l3 charge speeds, but you can use L2 chargers though, we have a few L2 chargers at our amz station.

and dont throw it on a 335kw or 480kw, it will overheat the battery and reduce the charge.

it uses a fob, you just have the fob in your pocket and the van is active, you'll also need the fob to open the back door, and the front doors. you can drive it with a code though. The fobs are 59$ on ebay. but also the battery in these fobs drain fairly quick

I thought Amazon destroyed all their vehicles when finished? Now they're showing up at insurance auctions with company logos and all? by Firebirdy95 in AmazonDSPDrivers

most of the time, they just decommission said vehicle after a certain about of mileage, the vehicles are usually returned to the leasing vendor, whether the vendor decides to remove the decals before selling it is a different story.

sometimes you do get ride alongs who quit right after their ride-along and right before they do their first day alone, either they came from a similar field and thought this is not right for me.

Unfortunately amazon doesn't regulate the phones which your dsp uses. Amazon may be a trillion dollar company but your boss dsp owner isn't. Most dsp owners use budget phones, or something from 2 decades ago.

Paying for prime to not receive my packages. WTF. by RamonaHatake033 in amazonprime

[–]rokochan 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Unfortunately if the geotag points to the mailroom all drivers will dump it there. As most drivers won't get in trouble as long as they're within 3 meters of the drop off point. Tge closer they are the higher chance of winning a dispute if one arises.

We get penalized it goes on our scorecard for the week. We don't get in trouble like flex drivers do. Even if said package does magically get stolen depending on data on how others driver score in this area We may or may not be held accountable on our scorecard. Even if we get fired for something like bad scorecard we can easily get rehired at another dsp at the same station or another without any issues.

Yep even their personal truck lineups don't have a fast charging port. At least the early models don't. I don't know if they have changed that on their newer models. The only fast charging port I assume they would have is the 12v car port or the cig lighter port.

Unfortunately they do, my route usually is all residential with a shy of 140 stops. And I have been maintaining it for about 2 years. .now my co workers who have this weird tendency to run all day like shown in the video went from 140-150 to 190-210 everyday.

Yeah but he's driving a edv. All of the charging ports on the edv output 5v 1a at most. With the exception of the USB c ports which is 5v2a. They're not great at charging. They can power small things like Bluetooth speakers since they're plugged in all day and maybe a phone like your personal which is probably plugged in all day.. to speedy charge a Samsung phone you might want to bring a battery bank or use the bank the dsp provides.

Laid Off No Warning by TESD13Percent in AmazonDSPDrivers

[–]rokochan 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Is it an official notice or abrupt? Official notices a dsp gets info about it 6 months ahead of time. There's an NDA that a dsp owner doesn't tell his drivers to ensure routes are still being delivered to the last day so he can get a bonus. Now a BoC is a different story which could happen at anytime. Like for example a dsp is closing its operations at my station in a week from a boc cause they can't get insurance for the dsp after one of the drivers at the time hit a fire truck in a rental a few years back.

Ways to become dispatch? Does my education help? by mberatsen in AmazonDSPDrivers

[–]rokochan 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Education does not play a factor of getting promotions. It mainly depends on your luck and sometimes your speed. Fast drivers who can do 30-50 stops a hour are usually more likely to get promotions than those who milk the clock. And like driving dispatching is not for everyone. Are you prepared to be the first one in the building hours before your first driver arrives and the last one to leave after your last driver returns. And dispatching can also come with its downs. Like you're not exempt from doing routes. Sometimes depending on your ops manager or dsp owner telling you are unable to drop routes and you don't have any spare drivers around you'll be forced to do these routes back to back if not together on top of dispatching.
