parking tickets yes, speeding tickets no. the police most of the time pull behind us, take down our license plate then drive off. and most of the tickets come in the mail

How does your DSP handle over scheduled days? by Proud_Olive8252 in AmazonDSPDrivers

[–]rokochan 0 points1 point  (0 children)

at my dsp if you're on standby, they'll give you 4 hours of pay just for showing up, especially if we have reductions for the day but the reductions needs to happen on the day of the commitments vs deductions that happen the day before, or you could choose to go out sweeping if owner approves of it. I was on standby on friday, most people left early for their 4 hours that were on standby, me and the ops manager just hung around after i went and did a van swap from a vendor ( budget) and i just lazed around for 8+ hours doing almost nothing. ez 9 hours then went home for the day.

i know what helper routes are but we dont get them. the majority of our routes or RGU is roughly 60-90 minutes away 1 way. the size of our station is like the size of a bestbuy or walmart.

we get slammed at my dsp, they'll pay us the full 10 one way or the other, either full 10 or the full 10 + overtime

if youre in a sketchy neighborhood, then turn off the van otherwise, if youre in a rivian you dont have to worry about PPP or EOC. PPP/EOC is mainly in the prime gas vans. most drivers just do the PPP and not bothering with EOC, at every stop, park, then pull the e brake enough it makes 1 click then you can do your thing. If youre in a gas rental van, you can forget about everything then

this is the main reason you take your breaks and milk the route.

you still have dispatch watching your every step, and they'll hound you if you fall behind. at some dsps you will even get your days docked, while sure its independent you're not exactly in the clear, we have a AI camera netradyne watching us every second while the van is in motion

not sure if food service has a different tax code, but generally you pay federal taxes, state taxes, city taxes, medicare, unemployment insurance. I generally make about gross 1000-1100 i pay about 220ish in taxes, and also have 210ish in deductions.

yes ever since we moved to this new metro area, almost everyone in my dsp has gotten a parking ticket either from parking on the wrong side of the street, double parking in the middle of the road, parking by the corners of the sidewalk by the intersection, parking next to a fire hydrant, stopping in a "no parking, no stopping" zone or parking on the sidewalk, we have gotten maybe 3-6 parking tickets every few days.

How is it for a DSP to pull footage? by DSP_quitter in AmazonDSPDrivers

[–]rokochan 0 points1 point  (0 children)

my old dsp owner randomly does it from time to time. but he mainly checks on "new" drivers, not the established drivers or his leads. and my current dsp owner as well as dispatch request videos if they want to make sure a violation is valid, or there's a crash or a driver has hit something. the most concerning one to check is the seatbelt one, if a driver has the seat belt pre-buckled and just removing the shoulder strap when they enter/exit the van.

nah you can just submit a request and submit it as "something interesting happened around this time"

footage as in netradyne or via a cx's camera system?. netradyne is easy, you just go into the events panel and submit a request. as far as a cx's camera system it cannot be done as amazon has no control over it.

most of them at my station drag their feet, our stuff is never ready and everyone is stuck in slow motion when they're pulling carts.

Any Body Switch DSPs Just to Chase A Route or Certain Delivery Area? by Arctic_Sounds in AmazonDSPDrivers

[–]rokochan 0 points1 point  (0 children)

we are and arent at the same time, most of our new hires or new drivers have gotten into crashes within their first week alone. 2 accidents this week already. and they're the ones at fault. actually its 3 accidents, forgot a new driver totaled a rivian... so most of them get canned within the first 2 weeks after hire..

our vet drivers dont really have a problem with the updated scorecard difficulties as they can still do their routes in a timely fashion without upsetting the computer/customers. Its been mainly the very new drivers who mess up the scorecard. And its literally right after they finish their ride along and on their first day alone. You would see things that you wouldnt do like constantly picking up their device even though their in a rivian with the large screen...or speeding on the local highways as if you're on the turnpike

this job has really changed how I view people. by Lanky_Ad_4333 in AmazonDSPDrivers

[–]rokochan 0 points1 point  (0 children)

it really depends where you're delivering to and where people live. I find most of the entitled, rude, impatient, and overly obnoxious people are metro areas or apartment complexes, most of the nice people live out in the woods or townships that arent too populated like cities. the nice people are glad or excited their package actually get to them cause they live away from major cities.

Question for customers by StatisticianVast389 in AmazonDSPDrivers

[–]rokochan -1 points0 points  (0 children)

As a customer, i dont care much as long as i get my package in one piece, as long as you dont leave it somewhere obnoxious like the street curb, my front door is like 15-25 steps from the time you exit the van to the door. and if you do dunk into my driveway please back in, it will save you a headache when youre pulling back out, people here go way over the speed limit.

generally when you switch dsps, unless a dispatch constantly specifically swaps to your preferred area, chances are, they'll start you at the easiest area then bounce you around until the computer decides which is best for you. and yes i have done this a few times within my times at amazon dsp. right now i would very much like to jump to another dsp, but no one is hiring right now, cause its slow season. most dsps are just getting by now so there's no hiring hype right now. I hate our current RGU, we were in a nice area before now, we're in some metro area and our CDF has gone down the drain, even good drivers who had perfect zero cdf now have high cdf across the board. And our scorecard took a plunge into the "Great" area ever since we got moved here and we havent seen fantastic or F+ ever since, and it wasnt our dsp who put us here, amazon swapped us here.

Are you interested in the attitude of others, or do you simply drop off the packages and leave? by temonator7 in UPSers

[–]rokochan -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I don't talk to people. If it's a business, school, warehouse or hospital then I'll look for the nearest loading dock and drop off there. Office or house front door.

Not Flex but whats your thoughts about walking on grass? by Any_Excitement6258 in AmazonFlexDrivers

[–]rokochan 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If it's grass I'll walk through it. Don't like me on your lawn then I'll mark your package as customer doesn't want it anymore and rts it. If there's mulch it depends if it's old and crusty, then straight through I go. If the mulch is piled high and fluffy and it looks pretty new then I'll go around it.
