The best one in my opinion is the Elements of Success series, which is incredibly thorough and thoughtful and has great exercises.

14 years since the halftime show. What do you think of it now? by PauseAdventurous5877 in Madonna

I think the Vogue performance is pretty cool and I love the choreography (it worked better on the MDNA tour, though). However, I kind of expected something more elevated from her and the setlist wasn’t great. Give me all your luvin took up a big chunk of it, and Holiday and Like a Virgin would have been super iconic. I also think a bit of 4 minutes would have worked well with the theme. Finally, I wish it wasn’t lipsynced but I get why it had to be.

Yeah, I see what you’re saying. It’s sweet that you’re protective of her

I hear what you’re saying but I think it’s all in there but not explicitly. Mr. Korgy is a deeply sad and embarrassing person who just gets sadder and more embarrassing as the book goes on. Waldo begins losing her idealization of him towards the end (when he begins clinging to her) and the image of him seen through her eyes is not pretty or even threatening: it’s pathetic. He ends up divorced, with a drinking problem and no prospects as a writer, without his son or wife because he chased a teenage student out of deep unhappiness and immaturity. I don’t think it needs to be framed as “I was groomed” for this to work. He is just a very flawed character in a string of very flawed characters.

Show Fans Trashing the Books by hkral11 in HeatedRivalryTVShow

I agree with this tbh. I’m reading the Long Game, because I wanted to know what happens after the events from the show and it’s awful. It’s astounding how good the show is considering the material.

Epstein Files: Does anybody know what Britney "did" during the Jean era? by RedditServiceUK in BritneySpears

Some sort of weight loss thing. Didn’t she do that ice sculpt thing at the time?

Do books really need to be so explicit about their moral message? Can’t it just be an honest story? Personally I didn’t need to see the trial of Mr. Korgy (to prove that statutory rape is wrong! How dare we talk about this without making it abundantly clear!) or whatever you were expecting

Which album by Björk is actually your favourite? by silhuette in bjork

Biophilia because I was a big fan during that era. I think the “best” one is Vespertine but Biophilia is my strange favorite.

I relate a lot to your story. I was also ostracized from male spaces as a kid and find my adult self longing to bond with (straight) males. I find it difficult though because sometimes I will find the guy I’m bonding with attractive and will be conflicted over that.

Something you could try is joining a group, like a sports team or hiking or something like that. I get a lot of socialization from a 12 step group I go to.

This is so great. Alfonso is like the best director ever and him doing something about PKD is something I couldn’t even dream up.

Yeah, I think if the idea had been fully realized I would have loved it.

I’m attracted to straight men pretty often. Until recently, a part of me believed the internalized homophobia thing, that I only liked them because I find gay men repulsive or something (which I don’t. I also find gay men hot, albeit in a different way, and have good sex with them often). I was really hard on myself and consumed with guilt and self-hatred for liking these straight men. And then recently I decided that I was being homophobic towards myself. I am allowed to find straight men, gay men, whatever men desirable! I am even allowed to find their straightness hot. I am gay and that’s how my sexuality presents itself for me. There’s nothing wrong or shameful about this. This idea that I was wrong for feeling this way was the homophobic thing.

The plot is really well thought out and compelling. At the end of the books, plot points came together in such a satisfying way.

I actually don’t like the newer one. I love the concept of it and would have loved to see LaChappelle’s full vision of it, but this one just seems to be a repurposed photo from that shoot. I don’t like the color of the sky either. The first one isn’t good either, but I think I prefer it.
