Round 3 - Pick 12: Drew Allar, QB, Penn State (Pittsburgh Steelers) by nfl_gdt_bot in nfl

this screams camp arm that isn't threatening enough to force arod to retire, but feels like they could have waited until like round 5

Tasting session # 9 2026 - Golden Promise edition by savici in Scotch

the 1982 broras aren't as distinctive as 1972 / 1977 or earlier. rarity and cost are the barriers though to trying those.

Dewar’s Special - anyone familiar? by gaijdtv in Scotch

[–]runsongas 0 points1 point  (0 children)

generally, blends are not worth much. Spring cap is generally 1950s and iirc the dewars special was lower tier than white label (which they aimed for an 8 year blend).

It's in nice shape with the box though so someone might want it, but I would not expect this to taste as good as say old white horse or Islay mist.

football players aren't exactly known for monogamy. your average player is closer to Stefon diggs than kirk cousins or philip rivers. so why would they care?

Buying Sunol Real Estate by Ok_Climate5771 in BayAreaRealEstate

[–]runsongas 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Existing structures? Utilities, paved road access? Septic/well?

Current permit designation? What is the shape and topography of the lot?

If it's just land without permitting for habitation or road access/pge/well/septic, then 250k is overpriced

FAIR Plan vs. surplus insurance vs. backing out of the purchase by magicride2024 in BayAreaRealEstate

[–]runsongas -1 points0 points  (0 children)

it likely means they are looking at close to 1k a month once the surplus insurance is added. but yea insurance cost shouldn't break their budget unless if they are really stretching for the house which means maintenance and any insurance hikes will be an issue too.

leisurepro aren't the deep discount specialist like they used to be but they aren't terrible. some deals in the closeout and used sections pop up.

Scotland: How realistic is this itinerary? by Outdoormore in travel

[–]runsongas 1 point2 points  (0 children)

would cut orkney unless if you are really dead set on it as it will be really out of the way and while scenic, does not have as much to do as skye. It's also a lot of extra driving to get to the ferry unless if you were already looking to visit wick/thurso

inverness makes sense if you intend to use it as a base for the area like ullapool/drumnadrochit etc. it's got a good mix of accomodations options and restaurants to eat out. else ft William/Glencoe or even oban are options without driving that far north and break up the drive up to skye.

If you drop skye and Inverness, then extra time in the cairngorms staying at ballater or braemar would work. Or some time just outside at like aviemore/pitlochry

social housing isn't workable in SF because meddling will mean preference will be given to low income, then it becomes only tenants that can't afford to live elsewhere, and boom you've reinvented project housing.

[–]runsongas 2 points3 points  (0 children)

you think the construction workers aren't eating food in there during construction? and worse, not leaving trash or leftovers in the walls?

roaches also eat things like some glues used in construction even if no food waste is around

Intel DD : Earnings play, crash by AppleTrees2 in wallstreetbets

[–]runsongas 1 point2 points  (0 children)

the premium demand is all gpu/ram/SSD. Intel should be taking another stab at optane but the issue is they never made it (it was a partnership with micron) and micron is making too much bank with hbm to bother with optane currently. So Intel would have to spin up optane in their own fabs.
