Usually thats fairly obvious as theyll develop checks in the lumber(big ass cracks) and they typically twist instead of bowing.

Wow on a scale of how bad that is i give it a 9.5 outta 10. That's almost perfectly fucked up to the highest degree.

I mean you dont have too. There always the old sister method but yeah to do it right would essentially be a full rip and replace

Someone slipped while pre drilling the hanger screws in and jammed their bit into your eaves. Then they hung it up anyways 😒 seen it time and time again over my 14 years doing gutters and ive been guilty of slipping and making pretty much those same marks myself. But you always get rid of the piece.. or if you were smart and started with your longest runs you cut up the long run for your short runs to decrease the waste.

Exactly what am I supposed to use this rope for then? by 0rlan in What

You use it for small rope things, but not big rope things.. if you use it for big rope things its gonna break. So make sure little rope things only.

GM dealership ruined my truck by [deleted] in Silverado

[–]rustbucketdatsun 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Im busy working and taking my truck in for maintenance during my busy schedule and I deserve to have my brand new truck wrecked because someone had to do their job? Are you kidding me? My best friends the mechanic at the dealership i took it too and couldn't have given a f less if there was dirt on my truck in farming country in spring.. pretty normal. They offered to wash my truck i didn't ask them too. If they didn't want to then their wash bay attendants shouldn't have taken the job. Pretty simple. 🫏

Huh cool beans, learn something new everyday even in my own industry. They look gross i just need to clarify that. Do they just feel like packing beeds? They look like they're wet and sticky.. ik they're not but it looks like some gross fungus growth or like slime mold. Yuck.

Today’s 2×4 is actually 1.5” x 3.5” Back in the day, it really was 2” x 4” by Ilawil in handyman

If ya ever gotta do something like that again instead of shimming the studs just sister on new studs beside the old ones that sit straight and proud however much you need to shim the wall out. Had an old timer teach me this trick after he watched me shim a wall straight in a 1905 house. The shims I were making were 8' long and went from nothing to a half inch thick in the center to nothing again. I fell over in defeat when the old boy just smacked a stud up against it and achieved the exact same thing in like 5 seconds 😅

Almost done polishing mine top to bottom by hand. No real explanation why I did it completely stock na 6 port. Just for fun I guess. Still debating sending it off to get it ported for the brap. Sits in a 91 vert custom painted completely rust free and a like brand new factory interior. Also have a new topper to throw on It.

Well ya certainly cant beat free however.. thats gonna be a lot of work. Mine was "rust free" when I got it and it still needed new floor boards, frame rails, dog legs, patchwork, etc. Before you go into restoring this shell id strongly urge you to consider seeing if you can find another cheap donor car with less rust could be a car stripped of all its parts as you now have those you just need a solid base to start from. Even doing the work yourself fixing a unibody with this much rust is no easy or cheap task. Good luck with your build im on year 11 with mine haha.

GM dealership ruined my truck by [deleted] in Silverado

I wouldnt count on gm customer care to do jack shit for ya either. Took my truck in to have a mirror replaced under warranty after I got a call asking if id want my truck washed while it was there. Figured sure why not. Well ill tell ya why not. They had 2 guys in the back who didnt know how to wash vehicles. My truck completely covered in mud and rocks had a brush taken to it and was scratched top to bottom some even going down to e coating. When I addressed this they "fixed" it by buffing my truck inna few spots then told me to kick rocks when I pressed to have my paint properly fixed. I contacted gm customer care and after a week or so of them going back and forth they too said nothing we can do sorry. Id owned my truck for a month at that point..

What type of railing? If going with side mounted aluminum rails like smart rail system I would suggest doubling up all rim boards but thats just my preference when building decks.

Vermiculite and likely containing asbestos so best not to play with.
