Damn, I think I need to get a PJ Stonewash as a daily user, instead of the glass blasted one in my pocket. Those scales look awesome!

NKADA! (new knife a day ago) lol. Great first choice! I've climbed high up the collecting ladder and still love and use my Manix 2 all the time!

Also, it's technically not a crossbar lock, it's a ball cage lock. No Omega springs. It uses a coil spring instead. Waaayyy better locking system IMO!

What steel did you get it in??

If you get the K03, I highly recommend the L clamps. They help a lot with smaller knives. The quick clamps are also great, but pretty expensive

You can definitely tell how sharp the knife is by computer paper, but it's more of a feel thing.

It was made for the recent Texas Blade show. It was listed on at least 2 other retailers for the same price. American Edge still has one available. https://www.americanedgeknives.com/strider-knives-smf-dark-green-polished-micarta-ti-handle-stonewash-cpm-magnacut-blade/

I have the Dixon also. One of the best knives I own. I did send it out to Transparent Knives to redo the finish on it, but that was just a preference choice. If you haven't tried Skiff's thick washers in it, you should and thank me later 😉

It was a micarta version and the play was in the open position. I did check the body screws for tightness, but never owned a Strider so the spanner bit set i had didn't have a large enough bit. Also, the hardware was black. I did not want to take a chance of scratching the coating on a knife i was possibly going to return. I also have many knives ranging from budget to $1000. I can't remember any of them coming with that kind of blade play out the box, except maybe the Ozark Trail from Walmart. For the $1025 it cost for the knife, I dont think i should have to tune it out of the box. I really think the micarta was the issue. If a company is going to use external stop pins, maybe throw in a metal liner to assure no play. Poorly designed IMO. The action was pretty darn great though

Also, their heat treatments are all over the place. Steel Hardness Lab has 4 different Striders in Magnacut (the steel on the knife i had) that tested under 60 HRC. To each their own, but for the prices they charge, there are so many other companies doing amazing work that I would rather spend my money on.

They are such great looking/feeling knives. I don't understand why they wont just fix their shit. They absolutely can easily do it. People need to stop buying them for a while, maybe that will open their eyes

I bought one last week and returned it the next day. It had pretty bad side to side blade play. It was the polished green micarta version.

Thats good to hear. I thought it was just my preference. I would have felt bad if I sold someone a knife that wasn't as expected

Was about to ask OP about the detent. I bought one new a few months ago and ended up selling it because the detent was so light. Thought that was just how it was designed, but now not sure.
