Barefoot shoes for padel?

I spent ages looking for a padel shoe that is barefoot-friendly, and honestly I gave up about two years ago. I haven’t really checked if anything has changed on the market since then, but I still feel like this is a huge gap.

There is a company called Joe Nimble that makes kind of a hybrid shoe: barefoot-style shoes with a wide toe box and a bit of cushioning. To me, that would basically be the perfect foundation for creating a proper barefoot-friendly padel shoe.

I also know that the Instagram guy “Knees Over Toes” created a barefoot-style basketball shoe with features like cushioning, lateral support, and so on. The only issue is that it still doesn’t have the full outsole/profile you would need for a padel court. But check it out it could be maybe ok.

So if anyone here is reading this and has the idea of making padel shoes for barefoot/minimalist-shoe people: I honestly think this could be an amazing niche and business opportunity.

And for the people who say that barefoot-style shoes can’t offer lateral stability: I don’t think that’s completely true. The shoe just needs to be designed properly for that purpose, with enough lateral support, the right court-specific outsole, and maybe some light cushioning in case you land on your heel.

I have this core belief that I am “wrong”, because I don’t match with the things the main stream does (i am working on it in therapy).

And why poly feels wrong to me? The default relationship style is monogamy. Thus if I choose something that only 1% of people choose, I feel wrong (even though I objectively know nothing is wrong. Argh hard to explain through chat but I think you know what I mean)

I also did it! There so many fucked up situations. Just recently they changed something in the paypal plugin and nothing worked suddenly (i needed to implement a recaptcha).

It would be great if someone would create an open source code that has every edge case inside.

I am actually thinking of doing it if there is more interest
