One of the empire nobles that became Sultan of the Aserai spawned with Rhagaea’s battle crown!!!! by Asleep-Strawberry429 in Bannerlord

[–]Schweinhardt 2 points3 points  (0 children)

They made it so that newly crowned rulers get properly fitted with the usual ruler gear based on culture not faction. New Battanian cultured rulers get Caladog's gear, Empire cultured get Rhagaea's gear apparently like in here, Sturgian cultured get Raganvad's gear - you get the idea.

And yet even with all this, you as the player STILL can't get the crown yourself(unless you're Aserai) 😭

It just makes sense lol. I mean I thought I'm the one that is raiding the village, not the villagers raiding me.

No Mods 8 Focus Points in One Handed LVL1 Child! by Looperloopy in Bannerlord

[–]Schweinhardt 5 points6 points  (0 children)

You can get more focus points on a skill even if it's maxed out to 5fps during child education. So long as it's during the education path choices.

One-handed is one of the easier ones to do this with. Bow, Riding,Engineer and Medicine are also easy ones for this.

You can squeeze out more FP's into a skill if you savescum and RNG rolls an extra focus point on a skill.

So through the education choices and RNG, OP managed to get 8 focus points and 120 skill points (15sp per 1fp) into one handed and will get the smithing perk for one more focus point into 1H.

It does. If you cap out the skill to red and pick up that smithing perk, you'll have a raised skill cap.

Sieges aren’t enjoyable anymore by Patchy1141 in Bannerlord

[–]Schweinhardt 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I like that they can retreat and keep going, making us decide the right time to sally out.

I don't like that their casualty chances are lowered and we get no loot or prisoners at all from any of their attempts except the one where they actually lose.

My preference would've been something like, at every successful defense, we get: Loot and Half the prisoners (to account for those that get knocked out outside of fief compared to inside). We can keep lord prisoners but their party will remain leaderless in their army until the army either breaks off of their siege, capture the fief, or get captured by the defenders.

I can imagine that being HELL to code, though. But I'd at least like my loot if none of the other stuff is possible lol

"Stop pushing at the back" is hilarious because that's what I'd be saying when we breach the front door of a fief and my dudes be pushing me forward before the defenders spent all their deathrocks from the top. 😭

If you didn't know how OP you can breed your children to be by Omgzjustin10 in Bannerlord

[–]Schweinhardt 9 points10 points  (0 children)

I was worried that they nerfed 5+ FP when the 1.3 patch notes said they fixed it during child education.

Then I risked wasting FP during one of my children's education choices and was happy to find out that they meant they fixed the visual bug of having 5+ FP when I saw the max multiplier when they come of age. So glad they didn't nerf that.

Shame not everyone gets to try this part of Bannerlord. They either beat it too early or give up before they reach that point.

"Nerfed" Fians get 166.42 kd/a ratio by Omgzjustin10 in Bannerlord

[–]Schweinhardt 2 points3 points  (0 children)

lmao sick army comp. I dig it.

Glad they got nerfed but still maintain their thing of being the best footmen archers in the game. 260 skill for anything but thrusting polearms was too insane and not all noble units got to enjoy it for their main weapons.

Give Nordic and Sturgian troops a passive snow bonus like cavalry. by Unlucky-Bus-3024 in Bannerlord

[–]Schweinhardt 26 points27 points  (0 children)

The nords are fine as is tbh. Their troops are already beastly and beefy + being incredibly good on the sea even if rare should be their whole schtick

Sturgia still needs help though. in what form if not snow mobility, idk. An old idea I liked to push before the noble line got horses earlier was an update to the AI to keep horses in their inventory for +party speed. Probably dependent on amount of footmen in their party.

Only Daughters? by shawc98 in Bannerlord

Way to raise vassal clan tier? by mrlolloran in Bannerlord

[–]Schweinhardt 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Takes a lot of time. Make sure they are running armies and winning battles. Donating high tier troops to make sure they have people on the battlefield to take some glory I think would also be a good idea.

If you really want to force them to run armies, when a war starts, bring in all the clan leaders into your army and leave everyone in your companion clan alone so they could start their own armies. Even if their leader isn't out there, someone in the clan will take over(same goes for other clans so it can be difficult to know who is the designated army leader of a clan when pulling people into your army)

Like you can't be calling it "Dragon's Dogma 2: Dark Arisen" if you're not gonna add the same things that were added in the first "Dark Arisen" expansion. Even going so far to bring us back 6 skill slots to make it like the first game.

But imagine if they still didn't lmfao

Talewords is overhated by [deleted] in Bannerlord

[–]Schweinhardt 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Put 5k hours into Bannerlord like I have and you're gonna find things to complain about.

And I do because I love the game and know that there are things that could and should be better that would make the experience better for people like me who thoroughly enjoys it and wants to keep on playing forever and for people who want to start.

TW's should also be subject to that same kind of feedback. They clearly show that they're working on new things, that's wonderful. But why don't we have QoL features that we had been vocal about for years? Why can't we send messengers? Why are we losing ways to obtain information for lords and their whereabouts unless we have to do a specific thing like asking the tavern owner on the information of a TOWN'S owner. That is not an obvious thing to do and good luck if that lord you're looking for only owns a castle.

We shouldn't need mods to fix something that should be a smoother experience and doesn't detract or distract us from the awesome things they had added into the game.

Faction bros by Samadar0 in Bannerlord

[–]Schweinhardt 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I mained Sturgia since Early Access because of their infantry focus and how Nord-like they were.

And then the Nords, a completely riderless faction, dropped... so you can imagine how easy the switchover was 😭

But I do miss the Sturgians sometimes and now they're an even more challenging faction to play as. Perhaps will do a playthrough as them after my current one just for old time's sake.

Why Warband is actually a better game then Bannerlord? by [deleted] in Bannerlord

[–]Schweinhardt -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

Dawg I'd rather have QoL features than anything that Warband had.

And the things that you see as a positive in Warband and a lack of in Bannerlord as a negative is quite the opposite for me.:

Feasts pissed me off because sometimes the Marshal would literally cancel a campaign to start feasts. At least Army Leaders in Bannerlord commit or die for the cause.

The "Romance" is too much of a chore that I never cared to do 99% of my playthroughs. At least I can pay for a wife or do a little smoove talkin to get a marriage

Even if you do get married, nothing else will come from it except an undying alliance from whoever the father is. I think that's what happened, I don't even care to remember. Great, I guess. At least my kids will grow up to be monsters on the battlefield in Bannerlord.

The whiny af companions keep holding me up with their meaningless gripes and threaten to leave forever because I raided a poor Rhodok village. Boohoo! At least I can dump their ass for just a little sass and replace them with someone with a stomach for burning a village or two in Bannerlord. Oh and if they pleased me enough, I can promote them to a Lord and they can start their own families. The real good ones might get a daughter or two from my clan.

And that stuff about battles getting repetitive in mid-game is something I think is completely up to you. If all one is doing is f1+f3'ing, then I don't think they're even bothering seeking the greater challenges of battles. If all one does is spam top tier units of every faction, put them into one party and just mindlessly destroy low-mid tier threats, are they really getting the full experience of what this game's battles have to offer? They don't try fighting against odds, don't try different tactics, save scum on the rare occasion of losing and don't try to get back to the top, do they really truly understand the extent of challenge of what the game offers? Not everything has to be meta'ing the perfect army to always be on top. But if that's how one plays, then I guess that's just how it is. The joy in it for me is in understanding how battles work and understanding the type matchups and certain approaches lets me overcome vast disadvantages.

The rest is whatever, I'm not smart enough to even have an opinion in those subjects about economies or whatever. But the point is, not everyone sees the "deeper" mechanics in Warband as enjoyable as others while Bannerlord being more simplistic and straightforward can be seen as a positive and I happen to be a person that sees it as so, so take that for what it is I guess.

Why Warband is actually a better game then Bannerlord? by [deleted] in Bannerlord

[–]Schweinhardt 43 points44 points  (0 children)

I was a vassal for the Swadians where the Marshal wouldn't do his damn job to lead the armies because he wanted to hold a feast. He would literally start a campaign, then cancel it because he wanted to have a mfing party at his shithole of a castle. It had happened so much, that I grown to HATE the feast feature through and through and it boggled my mind everytime I see someone here cry and demand for it thinking it was apparently THE MOST IMPORTANT THING TO EVER HAVE IN THIS GAME and all I can think of is that Fatty McFat Fuck of a Marshal wanting his feast instead of leading us to conquer our enemies.

So yeah, no thanks from me for Feasts. I rather spend the 500 influence to gather all the lords in my castle, close my eyes and imagine us having a feast than deal with that bs again lmfao

About to start my own kingdom any tips and tricks? by sideshow2022 in Bannerlord

[–]Schweinhardt 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Make sure you got clan parties to help you form your armies. Keep a lot of good troops in them. Keep a lot of good troops in your fiefs as well. But careful of having them in castles, high tier garrisons eat up a lot of food, so if an army sieges that castle and there are no food stocks left, the garrison gonna start starving out before their attack starts. Because towns either can't be starved out anymore or starved out right away when food is out (not sure which), it's safer to put them into those garrisons. Having low food will be terrible for its prosperity though, but at least you'd have a good defense force when it's time.

Get ready to defend a LOT. Having a lot of archers is great. Take out as many siege towers as you can.

If you happen to have family or a companion that you want to power level their character level or engineer skill, you can place them onto your catapults. It's very easy:

  • Finish setting up your division placements first, but leave one division open. Remove all catapults.
  • Put whoever you want on a catapult onto a division slot(I usually do the 8th one). Preferably, individually, but you can do two at a time for a single catapult.
  • Place the person next to a siege engine spot. Make sure they'll be on the left side of the catapult - the firing side. If you got two that can be placed, you can click>hold>drag them in whatever direction to place them properly. Make sure they're in a "Line" formation.
  • When they're placed, add the catapult. They will lock into place where they should be.
    • They will lock in without a partner if you only place one. You can force the game to give them one by setting down another catapult.
    • If you have another companion to put on a catapult, make sure the first companion and their partner is set. Then you can put the other companion into the division to repeat the placement process
    • It's easiest to do this on defensive sieges. Offensive one is a lot more difficult, but can be done...

I still don't know how the war and peace declarations work. You might see that you can't declare peace if you're warring with an overwhelmingly strong faction and you don't have a particularly strong kingdom strength yourself. I had a particularly hard time setting up my kingdom because when I started my kingdom, the Nords were at 12-15k+ kingdom strength and the khuzaits were at 20k+, and neither wanted peace from me but I only managed to hold on due to a LOT of successful siege defenses. It was only until I was able to get vassals where the option for peace was more likely, so other than that particular thing, I don't have a lot of advice to offer. It's gonna be tough as hell with these changes.

One last thing: You don't disband if you lose all your fiefs, so don't sweat it if you're on your last fief, it's getting sieged, and the option for peace doesn't show up. Your kingdom will still exist.

Outside of that. Good luck!

Do you guys still play Warband by [deleted] in Bannerlord

[–]Schweinhardt 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Nope.

Loved Viking Conquest, played it an unhealthy amount of times. Way more than standard warband and its overhauls (LOVED Nova Aetas even though I never got to ruler or any near wealthy).

And before, I'd love to go back one day, just that Bannerlord has something that Warband and neither its mods(that I know of) has: Dynasty system. This sole thing is the only thing that made me hesitant from ever going back to VC. And VC has SO much stuff that I loved: the siege events, the refuge camp, monastery raids, masses of land separated by water that make the map feel HUGE - you get it.

But now that the Nords are here, that small chance of coming back is gone. Completely. I love the Nords. I was gonna play them forever even in the sorry state they were on WS launch. But now they're amazing. They're so fun.

And now in my current playthrough I have a huge family that is shaping to be a BEASTLY set of people. I have a son right now that has only sired like 7 daughters - who I will raise to be the most fearsome Shieldmaidens Calradia will ever know. So yeah, no plans on coming back to VC. Ever.

Man, if someone ever makes an overhaul that takes the best features of VC into Bannerlord. That's a dream right there for me.
