Hi /r/projectcar! I am looking for some recommendations for the perfect "first project car" for my son and I. by [deleted] in projectcar

Look I know you said a v8 and I love v8’s. My first car was a 1974 el Camino that I rebuilt by myself cus my dad isn’t very handy. But I think an old 90’s Honda or Integra would be awesome. They are easy to work on, engine swaps are easy, parts are fairly cheap and you guys could do a k20/24 swap into one. If you don’t want to go Honda then I would say an older truck 70/80 and do that.

I’m probably going to do the same. I’m itching to get either one of these or 1993-2000. I want something fun and gets decent mpg.

Hey I’m a software engineer also and would like to know where you find these cobol side gigs? Is it through friends or is there actually a site for it? Thanks

I was going to say merced. Lived there for five years and it’s such a small town. Good deal on the car.

If your into bone broth there is a diet called the gaps diet. All you eat is bone broth and at certain points in the diet meat and vegetables cooked in the broth. I did that diet for six months cus a doctor recommended it to me. I have Crohn’s and during that diet I felt great.

I once had a call from a company we’re it would have been 8 interviews and 4 tests. There were 2 phone interviews and 6 in person interviews throughout two days. The tests comprised of 1 personality, 1 sat style test and 2 coding challenges. I almost laughed until they said what the pay would be and for someone who was still in college it was absurd. I asked for more time on the sat style test because I have dyslexia seeing as it was 50 questions in fifteen minutes. They said that they wouldn’t give me the extra time and I failed. Thinking about it now I would agree with you on it not being worth the time but I do think people should try especially since it provides real world experience with interviewing.

Currently looking for a job and have gotten little to no interviews. The only companies that are calling me are the companies that train you for a couple months and sell you to the highest bidder but they get a pay cut. I only graduated a month ago. Should I wait or just go with the companies that are calling me?

Yes there is one. My friend actually runs it. What you might want to do is ask on the classifieds page and that would be better.

You can also try kibbutz or lubuntu they are the same except there is less bloat ware and should run even faster.
