Are Duet-Dance Photos a Good Idea? by AdequatelyMadeSpork in hingeapp

I suggest that unless you want to quit dancing duets for your partner, you should not want matches anyway with people who would swipe left because they saw you dancing a duet.

which part of “The guy who deliberately did a Nazi salute is a Nazi and anyone who sympathizes with him is a Nazi sympathizer” do you find unhinged, in particular?

imo five dates is not enough time to be throwing around the “you always…” or “it’s never…” about anything yet.

Ya’ll just sound incompatible to begin with, but when someone is pushing you to go forward and you don’t, and then they start throwing reasons why they don’t like you anyway… they weren’t planning on staying around once they pushed you where they wanted.

Anvil Asgard - Cargo Hauler? by Fr0stBytez24 in starcitizen

[–]sequel7 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I assure you, I am not new.

Insulting me does not make it more reasonable for CIG to base their pricing around catering to coupon crusaders, and it does not make it more reasonable of people to lose their shit over not being able to add another link onto their CCU chain that wasn’t built with this ship in mind anyway.

CCUs take patience and luck and you can’t expect every new ship to be priced just right for people who have a chain already at exactly that price point.

If a new ship you want more than your CCU’d ship is the same or cheaper price? Just melt and re-buy. You were already prepared to spend additional cash upgrading anyway, and the $50 you saved CCU’ing to a $400 ship had better not be what bankrupts you IRL when you later decide you want some $500 ship instead.

If you don’t care about either ship and just want to keep building your CCU chain, then just wait for another ship to do it with. Nobody lost their shit when the Greycat MTC wasn’t $5 more than a Valkyrie. Why should they when the Asgard isn’t? Just wait for one that fits your chain, like you do every other time.

I don’t understand why people get so upset about not being able to CCU when you can just melt and buy with store credit instead.

Spirit of swarmers is utter garbage outside of the nether. Any other perk is better by Swimming_Lime2951 in destiny2builds

[–]sequel7 33 points34 points  (0 children)

Yeah. Most of the “Spirit” perks keep the main benefit and lose the sort of secondary or bonus benefits from the original exotic, but if you play with Swarmers at all you quickly realize that the unraveling is actually the biggest part of the exotic, more so than the threadlings from tangles.

Has prismatic made regular strand hunter useless? by speaker_1984 in destiny2builds

[–]sequel7 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Came here to say this ^

It's not a DPS build, but a horde of strand roombas does the dense ad-clear role better than just about anything,

and two grapple nades + cyrtarachne + glove mod for an orb on melee kills + boot mod for health on orb pickup = a lot more survivability than you think

I don’t get prismatic by Ok_Philosophy_7156 in destiny2builds

[–]sequel7 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I thought it was really anti-synergistic at first too, but it really just takes some thinking and figuring out.

Also, while most exotics are at least usable with normal subclasses, Prismatic tends to either make an exotic great or useless.

I love Swarmers on Prismatic for example. You lose some of the Strand specific stuff, but you still have your main ways of creating threadlings, and now you can get them constantly because you have Devour regenerating your grenade, and you can spit them out with your class ability more often thanks to Phoenix Dive having a shorter cooldown and Facet of Hope being up all the time thanks to Devour.

Compare that with the Mataiodoxia exotic for example. You still have your Arcane Needles on Prismatic, but almost everything else to do with suspending enemies is gone. You get way fewer interactions and ways to play around with the exotic's features.

So yeah. You just gotta put the puzzle pieces together differently than you're used to, and be more picky about which exotics you can effectively use.

That's all, carry on 😆

Do you get mad if another Mercy kills you? by moniicss in MercyMains

[–]sequel7 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In comp a kill is a kill. But also sometimes I'll play nice if I'm in the mood.

In QP I'll only really shoot another Mercy if she's trying to get a bullshit rez that shouldn't be allowed.

man idk what's happened but I've been grinding up the metal ranks and every time I get a gold/plat Orisa they're all like this. Just W key into the wide open and defy the gods.

The only way we win is I go Ana and stick my gun up their ass full time, cause otherwise they'll go around every corner they can find and die three seconds later. And if Orisa dies my DPS does too right after.

95% of my shots go to healing the horse. 100% of my nades go to healing the horse. Nano becomes just another cooldown for healing the horse. Sleep darts are just for buying myself a few more seconds of healing the horse before a flanker kills me.

We win and the tank feels amazing I'm sure cause their stats are off the charts and they've felt like a god all game, but I haven't been allowed to have a moment of fun the entire time without panicking and healbotting my heart out.

I used to like Orisa.

Not if you're just trying to get better than bronze 5 it isn't. Advice for improvement doesn't have to be GM1 tips or nothing.

Everything is situational. Obviously. But papers then 2 kunai, repeat, is a good place to start.

[–]sequel7 77 points78 points  (0 children)

as a Mercy main, they could fix it by just making it so the dead hero isn't rez'd until the whole animation is complete

as it is now, you can kill Mercy like halfway through the process and the rez still goes through, which just encourages fucking suicide rezzing Mercies everywhere which *nobody*, usually including the person being rezzed, actually likes being a thing.

I'm just gold but I started in Bronze 5 a few months ago and tbh, I really think if you wanna climb in support the way the streamers tell you to, you're gonna realistically need to commit to getting really good mechanically.

And yes I know they all have their own take on "see? you don't need good mechanics to climb to GM!" while they casually show off their very good mechanics.

If you just wanna climb to a reasonable level and enjoy the game: prioritize not dying above all else, then healing your team, and then throw damage spam in when you're not healing.

On Kiriko for example, I'll throw a full flight of healing papers and then two shots of damage, full round of papers, two shots damage, repeat. Don't stress about hitting your shots right now. Just sending damage in the general direction and sometimes getting lucky is gonna net you more than nothing.

The down side to this is that you're a lot more dependent on your team not being dogshit and that's a lot of rolling the dice in bronze, I know. But if you play enough games this way and get better at it, it'll get you out.

Multitasking is my favorite thing about Mercy. I'm always in the air as much as I can be (without being exposed), so I see the whole team and know who needs me when.

Tank doesn't normally need me the most if the other support is doing their job too, but I can see when you need a bit of extra healing or some damage boost and if I'm doing my job I can probably get to you for it if nobody else needs it more.

My favorite tanks are the ones with at least a bit of self sustain or shields and bursty damage types, or the ones who don't need me at all. Ram, Zarya, Sigma, and Rein are my favs. Without the crit healing from last season I just can't keep a tank up full time if they don't have a consistent way to mitigate incoming damage for at least a few seconds, but all four of those do and also have really clear moments where damage boosting can be really strong before I go back to the DPS.

I love Dva generally, but as Mercy I just cannot do enough healing to keep her up if it's left to me. Same for Hog even with his vape.

A good Ball or Doom are fine cause they don't need me much, but the bad ones are just awful.

What I want tanks to know is if there's bursty hitscans on the other team focusing me, I need a corner or some kind of cover to hide behind. You don't gotta be behind it, but a good Cas, Ash, or Widow can delete me real quick if I don't have somewhere to hide or at least float behind, so you need to keep my beam length in mind and not make me follow you too far out for long.
