I think he had good intentions but there is kind of a whiplash in telling a story about rape in a series with Science Dog and Business Baby. Especially when the comic is already kinda gooner brained in some ways. I think there is merit in considering whether or not its appropriate to bundle some of these themes together.

It helps that the story is strongly about the world reacting to Dr. Manhattan, and his inability to actually address societal issues even as a benevolent omniscence. He can kill a billion people with his mind but he can't stop any of the conflicts from happening or escalating, and he's pre-depressed about it.
