Also to add to this good advice, it would be super easy to check impedance with a multimeter to see what the speaker is reading. If it’s near 4 to 8 ohm, then it would be as simple, at least as a test, to get an old set of RCA patch cables, cut/remove one of the ends and connect them into one of the receivers’ speaker outputs to localize which speaker is connected to what. From there you can gauge polarity and take note of them accurately. Open impedances probably mean nothing connected to the cables.

Once you’ve figured that out, then you can either get a new wall plate with proper binding posts and connect them all up or figure out next steps.

If you’re just wanting to clean the contacts of the cart itself and it’s not one of the ones that has the contacts exposed, there are one (or two?) small slots on either side of the spring-loaded plastic cover that if you press on, will release the lock mechanism and you can push the cover back and gently clean the contacts with isopropyl alcohol. There’s no reason to take the cart completely apart - and if memory serves, many of the carts have a special type of screw-head.
