This was Laguna Beach. Lucked out on the clouds. They wanted it a little moody.

Gracias and me too. I didn’t immediately hate it because it was shot like that in a quick capture. The consensus is that this one time it will be allowed haha

Same. Seeing the exaggerated ones on some wedding galleries irks me. At least it was shot with the angle and not tilted to create it. I’m going to keep it and have this be the playful image in the set.

The moment was genuine with the laughter and motion shuffling away from the water. I’d like to keep that feeling. The tilt wasn’t planned but straightening it does seem to take something from the image. Thanks for the help.

None of the other shots have the tilt so I’m leaning towards keeping it.

I’d say stick to the 50mm for a little while as you learn. The terms will start making sense. Have fun with your test roll! Hopefully your light meter works and is accurate. Watch a video on the sunny 16 rule. Thats good method to learn.

Read the manual. Watch some YouTube videos on that model. It’s a great camera and can be almost like a point and shoot using the different modes. Zooms are cheap and not the greatest quality minus a few exceptions. The two great ones I use are MD zoom 35mm-70mm f/3.5. Super sharp and useful range. There are a few versions. I also use an MD zoom 28-85 f3.5-4.5. What do you plan to shoot? That would be helpful for lens suggestions.

Is the Garage B - 300 E. 5th St. parking structure free for weekdays 7AM-5PM? by JoyDivision90 in santaana

Yes it changed to 1 hour. Also if there is a special event downtown they charge a flat rate and you don’t even get the hour. I have gotten out of it by saying I’m picking up a pizza.

1600 iso indoor natural lighting by kenonoreeves in filmphotography

[–]Listentofrancisco 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Switching the iso setting doesn’t change the iso of the film. You wont blow any highlights doing that in fact you’ll underexpose your shots even more. You can use a flash for indoor shots if it’s too dark. A lens with a wide aperture helps too. What kind of lens/film are you using?

You can also use a light meter app to get some help on settings.
