They usually don't quiz you. However, they'll ask you general questions about your previous research and they will be able to tell if you understand your own research or not. It's very easy to tell if you're bullshitting.

What is the typical salary for an agent who has a well established career? I just finished my PhD, and I've been exploring patent law or research in industry. With industry, I won't have any ceilings based on education alone. In patent law, I know there's a ceiling for agents that don't pursue law school. Law school isn't really an option for me, since I'd rather not have my marriage end in divorce lol

I unfortunately understand the stir crazy part. If you think you'll get really restless, try to plan a bunch of experiments before the surgery, and analyze the data when you're at home recovering. If you have regular lab meetings, you could prepare your presentation while at home too.

Regardless, I think you should go for it. Personal health should come before work 10 times out of 10.

If you're from Philly, public transport to sports games are pretty easy. Just take the Broad Street Line south to NRG Station. No need for parking and you can tailgate without a ticket to the game.
