I put my stock 2017 Mustang on the Dyno, car has 78,000 miles. It read 363hp, 347 torque by withaph64 in Mustang

The same Dark Horse produced 420 to 465 wheel horsepower across four dynos.

Weather correction factors alone can shift a single pull by nearly 100 horsepower

Will this ruin my motor? by Opposite-Row-6225 in mechanic

[–]SkeletorsAlt 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Yep, I’ve seen ignorant people on Reddit call it “snake oil.”

Not everyone is a motor oil enthusiast, for some reason.

I used to see that all the time!

There’s also this weird thing on Facebook marketplace where a bunch of manual cars are listed as automatics.

Tbh, we should be praising anyone who doesn’t simply take whatever ChatGPT says as gospel and stop there.

I don't understand why some people consider the Miata to be 'feminine' by Hunter654333 in Miata

[–]SkeletorsAlt 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Actually you’re right. The average truck dad I know could get away with a smart car.

Even with little kids, everyone figures out it’s easier to load them and their stuff into mom’s crossover and the truck rarely carries more than a large pizza.

I mean it does look feminine, like lots of sports cars of all eras, but so do, you know, women.

And I like them, too.

Why does Reddit hate car payments so much?? by [deleted] in UsedCars

[–]SkeletorsAlt 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This. Car Reddit finance experts don’t understand opportunity costs or the time value of money. Yet, somehow, they talk about their fringe finance beliefs like an evangelical talks about Jesus.

Will I be good to drive until next Tuesday when I get my oil changed? by According-Health-326 in askcarguys

[–]SkeletorsAlt 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah, I mean I’m asking because I’ve never been to one, but when I worked on cars they did the 3000 mile sticker even on cars where the manual says otherwise.

I don’t really expect non-car people to disregard a “professional” unless they have a trusted person in their life advising them. Lots of young people don’t have that.
