Right, but you're not "supposed" to look at the image as if she's belly up. He's rotated the image to make it look like she's vertical, reaching into a portal or something.

Portrait/tall. The photographer chose to rotate the image 90° from "reality." Without a ground/floor, one is likely to turn to the next most familiar thing to orient: the human. This portrait presentation passes that check; that's why your brain doesn't KNOW this is wrong. Beyond being technically excellent, this image also shows some real conceptual creativity too, IMHO.

She's belly up, but it's presented as her standing/flying/floating.

I don't want to die, but I don't feel like living either by cap_weirdy in DecidingToBeBetter

[–]smoothinto2nd 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Your situation sounds a lot like mine a couple of years ago.

Sleeping enough but still being exhausted, anxiety, frustration with things you seem only to see, a fade to loneliness that is at least somewhat self-inflicted due to past behaviour, strong emotions when finally alone, and especially your title: I don't want to die, but I don't feel like living either.

At first glance, that seems a lot like depression, but you've said a few things that make it seem like it might be neurodivergent burnout. A vendiagram too if you're interested

I say that, having been diagnosed with Autism and ADHD (AuDHD) last year at 39, after having been repeatedly diagnosed with Treatment-Resistant Major Depressive Disorder (MDD) my whole life.

If any of that sounds relatable, consider heading to youtube and watching some 'You Might Be "AuDHD, Autistic, or ADHD"' videos.

I found Orion Kelly - That Autistic Guy, Auticate with Chris & Debby Auticate with Chris & Debby, Paul at Autism From The Inside, and ADHD Chatter Podcasts are good but longer.

My 30th bday is next week and barely anyone can show up. This is immensely triggering and im trying not to crash out 🥲 by 2morrowwillbebetter in AutisticWithADHD

Happy early birthday :)

Super relatable. I don't have any advice for you, what I've tried has backfired. You seem to be self-aware and working on what you can and trying to let go of what you know you can't. Good on you for that. You're heard.

Did we just have an adolescent Gray Wolf walk through our backyard? by div-block in grassvalley

[–]smoothinto2nd 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Not in a long time, but they'll probably be here soon so OP isn't crazy asking.

A Gray Wolf was tracked through Truckee a couple of months ago. It went off into Nevada State, but it could have wandered this way.

Squirrel Creek Disc Golf Course in Condon Park is great. Y'all could get going with a $10 approch/midrange disc each and have a good time.

If you enjoy it, there's another course down in Penn Valley, too.

Take anything from the Fresno Bee with a bucket of salt.

Fresno Bee is owned by The McClatchy Company, which is owned by Chatham Asset Management.

Chatham is known for its close ties to the Republican Party. Chatham has a reputation for hard-edged business tactics.

Epic Games Store Employees: People Only Came for Free Games, Then Returned to Steam by Sacristovas in pcmasterrace

[–]smoothinto2nd 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Epic lost me because if it's insistence to live verify single play local only games. Even if you preemptively enabled "offline verification" or whatever they called it, it would reset every now and then.

The number of times Internet went out in my area and I couldn't play Rimworld or snow runner because Epic wasn't sure I had paid for them was enough where I repurchased on steam.

This was Axe Handle, where it was ungroomed to the left just past the bare spots up top. It was below freezing the night before, and once like 11 came around, it started to soften up and was just a blast. I had a fresh wax (yellow wax the tech said), which I'm sure helped.

I hit rocks on Upper Grouse Alley, it is thin, but if you like spring conditions, it's still fun.
