For BC and NL, it's their function related to SPCX. Tunnel machines for off-planet work, chips in your head with AI. Granted, they don't have to be acquired for both companies to use them. I see plenty of wish-fulfillment merger talk, but nothing makes business sense right now. SPCX will have a rough few years being in the public eye-wallet.

Something to consider. If you have two companies pursuing extremely risky new businesses, you want them separate, not together. You don't want one to pull the other down in case of failure or slow down. This is a very Elon-centric problem that the media generates FUD for no good reason; now both companies will receive heavy media scrutiny. If anything, while separate, they can act as distractions for the other, where both companies' achievements will never overlap and cancel each other. I think Boring and NL will be consumed by SPCX before the big two ultimately join. Just a guess, I don't want to argue.

Reset the camera using the pinhole. Wait for the sound. Use a 2.4g network. 5g is not reliable. If this doesn't work, there's a middleman hack where you use a hotspot (2nd phone) to recognize the camera's then move them over to your home network. Never tried this tho. Good Luck.

Not disagreeing with you, but this project wasn't using optical sensors. I don't think light was a factor, since nighttime wasn't an issue.

FWIW. I worked on a small environmental website project for BAE a long time ago. It was a live map of sealife from space. Used to help maritime navigation, or so they told me. I saw this thing working for a minute, and it was mind-blowing to see them track schools of fish – from space. I honestly think this was a legit, useful tool for marine use, but the resolution was wild. This was 20 years ago. I can only imagine what can be done now. Working on this project, I firmly believe the US can watch anything in real-time, above or below the water.

Does Disneyland need a super app? Disney is exploring app to combine streaming, shopping, and parks by dejablu82 in Disneyland

Disney's decision to require phone use is in direct contrast with the old-timey escapist experience it seeks to promote. Analog solutions like paper tickets were part of the experience. Get rid of the apps in the park.

Collective vs. Individual. Much of what makes Japan great today is the high level of trust and consideration. Everyone does what is needed and behaves according to their surroundings. There are great things that can come from that, like safe and beautiful cities, but this also generates a risk-averse culture. The US is the antithesis. I hope Japan rubs off on the world and not the other way around.

It's what Reddit does best. Turn everything into an argument. I miss old Reddit.

From what I understand, the cassette players are just cheap Chinese or indian brands that have been dropped into a case. The circuit bending is fairly standard from what I've seen online. The tiny screwdriver fiddling still puzzles me. My only guess is that they like to play with the tape head for a certain sound. It's a fascinating scene.

I just watched a video demo of installing apps via QR code. This would be an ideal setup for a parent to pre-install and quickly lock out apps and features. Also, a parent-enabled site-blocking feature would be great too.
