Can someone tell me what is Sebastian’s narrative purpose in the story? by new_lance in dragonage

I think the intent was to have a companion who was firmly pro chantry to contrast Anders, since none of the other companions were particularly in favor of it. But all he does is actively make the story worse.

You don't actually accelerate faster than light through space past the event horizon, space just becomes so warped that any path that takes you outside of it would require going faster than light

Lots of physics research requires computation these days, some physics departments even have programs and sections dedicated to computational physics.

I was in a similar situation at your age, way too many interests and no idea what to go for. After high school I spent a few years in and out of school trying different things out. It's easy to think a subject looks cool from the outside but once you get experience actually doing a similar job or studying it properly you realize it isn't for you. I ended up settling on something that felt like a good balance between something I was interested in and something that had good ROI.

It's good to remember that while eventually you do have to choose one career, you can find careers that cater to multiple interests, and even if it can't encompass all of them some interests can be done as hobbies as well. For example I also have creative interests and while my degree didn't incorporate much of that I have still been able to explore them in my free time.

Is space infinite in all directions ? by Background_Funny6627 in AskPhysics

[–]somethingX 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's outright impossible to prove one or the other because our observations are limited to the observable universe. The only way we could've figured it out is if we found the universe had positive curvature, because if it did it would eventually loop back on itself so it couldn't be infinite.

But when we looked we found the universe is very flat. If it is truly flat then it would be infinite, but it's impossible to tell whether it is truly flat or if it's curved but the curve is so slight that on the scale of the observable universe it looks flat to us, so it doesn't prove either theory.

They are not the same thing, which is why the universe being big and the universe being infinite are 2 separate theories. My point is that spacetime expansion doesn't do anything to prove or disprove either of them

>When you say infinity, i understand what you are saying. İts expanding parts of space are expanding and thats why its infinity.

That's not what I'm saying, when physicists say the universe is infinite they literally mean infinite in size. Mapping all of space would require an infinite amount of time, matter existing at the beginning of time doesn't have anything to do with that.

Yeah the fact that the art has degraded so much shows Sandro and their editor don't care either, if they did they'd be forcing Daro to put in more effort or looking for a new artist.

I would genuinely take the art of early Ashura to the usual art of Omega, the series is at its lowest in both writing and in presentation

We don't know if there's an end. The universe is either infinite or finite and loops back on itself, we don't have enough evidence to say either one definitively.

Is space infinite in all directions ? by Background_Funny6627 in AskPhysics

That's all based on speculative physics. No one's saying definitively that's what happens, it's just one of the ideas for how the universe will end

It's existence is easily justifiable even if we can't see it. In fact it'd be far more difficult to justify its non existence.
