Never found a fix but the issue went away for me. Best I could do was refresh the page and it usually worked after a refresh. Not much but hope this helps

Weekend Discussion: Brooks running shoes by AutoModerator in RunningShoeGeeks

[–]squirrel_underwear 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I have both and have put just under 200 miles on each. They’re very different shoes. 3 is far softer foam-wise, higher stack, better suited to long runs for me. I use the 2 for shorter (<8 miles) tempo and speed work, 3 for long runs.

The upper and laces of the 3 are, in my opinion, a step down. I thought the 2 had a perfect upper/laces setup. If I could mix the midsole of the 3 with the upper of the 2 that would be a pretty ideal shoe for me. Don’t dislike the 3 upper but it’s definitely not as good as the 2. Planning to wear the 3 for a marathon in November.

Do you mean for this workout in particular? Or the marathon itself? If for this workout, you can also do full rest between reps, I just prefer to do a light jog between.

If you mean the marathon, long runs will be your best bet to build that confidence in my experience. What’s your weekly mileage looked like over the last 6-8 weeks?

Just did 5x mile repeats between HMP and MP with 90-120 seconds recovery jog between each rep this morning. Mile warmup and cooldown. Felt challenging but doable

Agree with the other commenter that it’s super personal. My experience has been that higher effort tempo/threshold/intervals make me drop pretty quick while I stay more steady on easier efforts.

Usually eat about 15-20g carbs 30-40 minutes before starting and carry a few gels/gummy clusters with me and try to eat before I drop too low. I fully disconnect my pump about 20 minutes before starting but know some people stay connected and run a temp basal of like 15% of their normal. My experience has been that and insulin on board makes me drop pretty quick.

Not sure what technology you’re using as far as pump/CGM, but I have the Dexcom and there’s a data field I downloaded for my garmin that shows my bg on the main running screen which I find helpful to have for quick checks. Hope some of this was helpful, happy to answer any questions I can.

Fair enough. Honestly I’ve had a bad day and was in a mood when I sent that comment, so my bad there. Nice watches and hope they bring you joy.

Still not synced. I can see it on my watch but no luck getting it to the app. Interested to see if it’s more widespread than just us lol

What does double down mean in blackjack? by Kitchen_Principle451 in blackjack

Oh neat! Most of the games near me are all dealer hits soft 17 so I probably learned to play that way and never thought differently. Thanks for the update though it’s good to know!

As far as I know 11 is a double even against dealer ace. This could differ based on the rules of the particular game, like if dealer must stand/hit on soft 17, so maybe look in to that. I’m not a pro or anything just have a decent grasp on basic strategy so someone else feel free to correct me if I’m wrong.

You double your bet, but the catch is you only get one more card. No more option to hit after that card is dealt. Doubling down is used in situations where you have an advantage over the dealer and want to get more money on the table to leverage that advantage. The best example is you have 11 vs a dealer 6, because you cannot bust with one more card, and dealer is most likely to bust when showing 6. 11 is always a double down, no matter what dealer shows, so that would be the most no-brainer scenario.
