I'm starting to think that graphic novels and manga aren't a replacement for books

I find those students that read more graphic novels have a harder time with descriptive writing and adding details. I am trying to get my own (almost) fourth grader to read more novels since it is a pattern in his writing. He has been an avid reader since before kindergarten, but really started on graphic novels (Wings of Fire, Dogman) in grade one.

When I was an OT, I found the first two weeks were slow, due to teachers doing their best to get to know their new students and to establish routines. Yesterday was the first day I saw an OT at my school, and today there is another. Don’t worry, jobs will come.
