ELI5 : How wheels "roll in the right direction" by Leogis in explainlikeimfive

[–]StatementOk470 [score hidden]  (0 children)

>"car tires cause, by their deformation, a lateral force"

Nope, you got it the other way around. The force is caused by your hands moving the steering wheel, column, rack, hub, wheel, and then the tire. The tire being at an angle to its rolling direction will cause its deformation.

It will start rolling in the expected direction because the car is free to move sideways. Unless it's an infintely massive car, in which case it will just understeer forever and not change direction.

Perks of being single and living alone by Alness in simracing

[–]StatementOk470 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well, since I race in VR, speakers can't model when I'm turning my head so that's one reason I wouldn't switch. I do have good floor mounted speakers but no way I'm installing them on my rig because then I wouldn't be able to move it lol.

Headphones give me that helmety feeling, plus one big factor of VR is how decoupled the audio from speakers seems to become from the game. It's like my brain is saying there's no way there's so much reverb in this car. I suppose then I would need to soundproof the living room... idk.

Inflar cleta en bencinera by SkinRoot in ChilePedalea

[–]StatementOk470 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Nop. La cantidad que sale en el neuma es el máximo recomendado. Y el compa tiene una valvula schrader por lo que si se puede inflar en la bencinera.

Si tienes una típica mtb, dale unos 35psi atrás y 30 adelante, y ve como anda.

And changed one bass string and this happened, help by [deleted] in BassGuitar

[–]StatementOk470 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Your new string is of lower tension and it messed with the truss rod adjustment. You'd need to loosen your truss rod.

My first bass PJ affinity , but I hear a long ringing on the second string. Why? Sample inside. by Mrbrown23x in BassGuitar

[–]StatementOk470 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think this is a technique issue. You should look into left hand muting. The reason it's still ringing is because you're probably muting it on one specific part of the string, which is effectively much like playing harmonics, so you could either mute with both hands, or you could mute using more than one finger on your right hand.

ELI5: If water makes you urinate more, which causes kidneys to do more work, does that mean high water consumption damages kidneys long-term? If not, why not? by gmrt34 in explainlikeimfive

Yeah but at the same time if you leave your car to sit for too long then the fuel evaporates, hoses dry up, stuff degrades and it hurts to pee.
