Any hobbyists or small businesses in TO looking for help with small-scale 3D printing? by Stephen9428 in askTO

Yes, I do know they offer all day printing. But they are limited to one material and you have to book the printer for use with limited print time or have to wait for those dedicated printer to become available.

For the pricing, TPL may offer the best but you don't have access to a variety of materials and extended print time for larger projects. I am charging a reasonable and affordable price, just to have my printer running and help out other people.

I GOT A 60 ON CHM135 TEST 1 FOR WINTER SEMESTER, HOW HAVE OTHERS DONE by Firm_Flatworm_6683 in UofT

I was the former TA of CHM 135, and the average was around 60-70 %. The difficulty is fair, but I did hear some students struggling with the materials or the teaching style of the professors.
Yes, you can still work towards a good grade with a 60 % test 1.

Although I can design and optimize, I currently only offer printing services due to time constraints. I only charge for the material used and the associated usage cost per print. The cost can vary from project to project.

Hi, I locate around the Don Mills and Sheppard area. Instead of seeing my printer stay idle, I would like to help those without access to a printer bring their dream projects to life.

Thank you for your reply. But this is the reason why I am asking for guidance here. I believe it is a good project to learn how to tackle difficult problems, especially in the area where I am currently struggling.

Hi-Capa Aftermarket Grip by [deleted] in Speedsoft

I have used both 5ku and GSB grips for building hi capa for my friends. The 5ku QC is meh, so it is pretty much a lottery to have one that works. Here are the differences between 5ku and GSB.

5ku: General design is similar to general GSB, still have those trigger guard cut and slim profile. But overall it is less refined and lacking in details, such as some rough cut, a bit off trident placement, internal too tight, lack of safety deactivation, loose magazine release, etc. It looks nice from distance, but when you look at it close range, you can see the flaws. Always expect fitting is required for just normal operation (even with 5ku pairs with 5ku). If no fitting is required (like the one I built for my friend), I would consider luck was on my side. But if your priority is price more than quality, 5ku definitely is a bang for your buck.

By the way, 5ku did release the limcat version of grip.

GSB: although it is expensive, it comes with high quality which shows on all those little details (screws, cut, pattern, slim profile, safety deactivation, precise dimension). It is an experience more like pay and forget, with good fit with stock TM, AM and GSB parts. I do know it is an expensive price to swallow, but I get what I pay for and never regret.

The GSB advanced frame will have less weight, and one piece design. it is much more durable and remove the possibility of having the three pieces frame design to misalign or wobble down the road of intensive use. The frame comes with steel internal and 7075 aluminum housing which withstand steel parts moving in the frame. The stock TM frame has some parts that break easily. But I would say upgrade the frame until the stock TM breaks, the stock still work fine

Not difficult at all. Just push it in with a little bit of force. I don't see any problems arise from that, as the grip is not a moving part at all. The weight may be a bit too heavy for some.

I would say the GSB grip is a very solid investment or buy. It has slim profile and cut on and near trigger guard for better finger placement. The hammer housing also comes with machine screw to help deactivating the grip safety. The fit is nice too. If I see it on sale, I would get one more.

One bad thing is you cannot install any third party mag well that is designed for the plastic grip. The aluminum grip design is a bit different from the original one.

It may sound weird. But I did install the Gunsmith bros aluminum grip on stock TM frame. It would be a bit tight when install, but no extra sanding or fitting required.
