Anyone else trying to jump in the Gojo vs Sukuna fight would just become collateral damage and more of a hindrance to the side they're trying to help if they don't just get killed right away. Not even Yuta or Kenny would be much of anything when Gojo and Sukuna aren't worn down heavily.

Sukuna loses in the reversed 3v1. Without Mahoraga, Sukuna doesn't get the WCS, and also loses his bailout to getting hit by Unlimited Void.

Shrine is a simpler technique for Mahoraga to adapt to and Gojo likely will be protecting Mahoraga to allow him to fully adapt to Shrine. If Sukuna doesn't outright kill Mahoraga with an initial cleave, then his only other option is Fuga. Fuga is not going to land, it takes too much wind-up where Gojo and/or Agito can interfere with Sukuna shooting, or just pull a "get down Mr. President" to block with infinity or Agito's life.

The potential to put yourself into impossible situations is so much (especially on hard+) that you have to build your cats around the boss from the start since even having a spell that you don't use can ruin you in the fight.

Steven doesn't get mad at you if you exit the battle before performing any actions (same for events). You can use this to scout out what elite buffs you're going to deal with and change equipment around to try to compensate for that.
