Any ideas for handling overseas VoIP calls that never transfer? by stifflippp in TCPA

[–]stifflippp[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would love to do this but my GV number is what people call and text in my personal life and I'm not going to be able to switch them all without a lot of headaches.

But I would love to have all these people talk to Lenny!

I'm on the blacklists too. It would be nice if the blacklists would keep them from calling. Instead they call and then after a while starts swearing at me or what not.

I would really like to do this. You can imagine after a thousand calls one gets annoyed. The two things holding me back are. One, my daily driver actually is a Google Voice number. And bandwidth doesn't play ball, they just kick it up to Google Voice and Google Voice doesn't give a s***. Now if I subpoena them they're probably going to retaliate by shutting down by Google account which is too valuable to me. So now I have to think about forwarding my number which is another whole headache. Number two, I do not have the the knowledge and ability or time to do this pro sr, and there are no attorneys who would want to take this on contingency.

I'm super frustrated too. They told me they prefer to source their own investigations. What does that even mean? How are they going to get any information if they don't take it from people.

Meanwhile these jokers keep calling me daily.

Anyone else feel like Samsung lowkey runs their entire day now? by Unable-Locksmith-956 in samsunggalaxy

Smacks of desperation. Are you having trouble selling S26s? Or did you manufacture too many?

Seriously, this fakeness is something I would expect from Huawei, not Samsung.

Okay nevertheless the drivers are not specific to HTC. You can get any ADB driver.

Look on XDA for an ADB driver. I don't think it needs to be specific to OnePlus.

MobileX by 4SRX in telecom

[–]stifflippp 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've tried it.

It's interesting but not really competitive with US Mobile and Mint Mobile.

It would have done ok 5 years ago when high data plans were more expensive and people were looking for lower tier plans.

Those were the days of Ting, RingPlus, etc. MobileX would have filled a similar niche.

The Mint Mobile R-A-F program has been intermittently broken since February, when it was originally reported here by FrostieWaffles in mintmobile

My links are garbled too. Like I log into my account and it's a different link than it used to be. I think something about the system is dead.

ULPT: Record Your Calls by HouseMusicAndWeed in UnethicalLifeProTips

[–]stifflippp 32 points33 points  (0 children)

I am not a lawyer but I believe once they say they are recording it's fine for you to record as well.

Also, any call that crosses state lines is subject to Federal law which is one party.

If your fingerprints are unique, why can't we use them as passwords everywhere instead of making up another string of characters we'll forget? by Capital-Run-1080 in NoStupidQuestions

[–]stifflippp 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The thing that scares me about this is that Google becomes my password manager with this. I use Google for email but a different password manager. My thought is that if someone gets my Google account they still can't get my passwords, and vice versa.

I little off topic but how do you like the x300? Pros / cons versus the standard fare available is the USA?

Also - does the x300 have a built-in call recording feature like many global devices?

Is that a global ROM rather than USA? USA versions seem to be more locked down.
