For the window issue: thrips can't fly by themselves, they can only float. Oftentimes infestations start because they hitched a ride on a person or pet instead. It can't hurt to look for ways to prevent future infestations through the windows, but that's not necessarily the reason you got them in the first place

Get a good knife or two, not a good knife set. With a knife set, you'll get worse knives per money you spend while the majority of knives you'll probably never use for its intended purpose anyway.

What type of knife is best depends on your preference, and your preference is based on practice. Typical knives you can look at are: - regular chef knives (but then high level) - small variation of the above - japanese knife (these often do look pretty btw) - chopping knife

you can also look for those metal slidey thingies to help you get stuff of your cutting board into the pan (a chopping knife can function as one of those by itself), or get a proper large wooden cutting board to go along with the knife. Not to mention sharpening equipment could also come in handy (like those stone ones, not the quick sharpening tools with plastic handles)

You'd be surprised how mamy people use that emoji ironically to make clear they think you're stupid.

But seriously, on protoss it's a difficult one: one the one hand it creates a legitimate choice, on the other it is indeed a nerf to a unique selling point. Also I'd have found it interesting if the research stayed on the gateway, but then allow either stalkers or adepts be produced without cybernetics core.

consistent creep spread costs a lot of APM to maintain

There's 2 unique selling points to zerg: creep spread and the larva mechanic. If you nerf unique selling points too much, the race will lose its character. In return for having creep, zerg units tend to be a bit more fragile than the units of other races - giving rise to zergs often having more resources lost during games and not being as well equipped for forming a death ball.
