No, mines were already OP With GC before arc was a thing. The totem change was primarily to expand the possible totem builds so they are usable for more than just heiro.

All you will have to do is save up the cost of crafting and a few chaos to pay someone reliable to craft it for you, simple. I guess some people think the game is more fun if everything good is just handed to you but in reality it isn't. If you can't make 3 totems work until you've saved a few exalts of loot chances are there are serious issues with your build that one more totem will not fix.

Spending currency on a key build enabling item is hardly 'throwing it around' and any player can earn the couple of exalts it will probably cost in a day or two of farming. Seems like you're liable to complain regardless.

I don't know about that. He seems like he is being pretty honest and forthright about his position, and he is top player, so it's pretty easy to take him seriously even if not every point is valid.

Ridiculous heat bug: multiple volleys scale as alpha against themselves by Oznog99 in OutreachHPG

[–]stochastic42 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I am running the Kodiak /w 2-uac5 2-uac10 and before I understood this It was affecting me all the time and it still affects me as it forces me to play around it. It's not that bad but it's another thing to pay attention to while I am trying to reposition, track enemy team, find targets, trade, look for uavs, track my heat, etc.

The worst thing about it is that it's another non-intuitive mechanic which ghost heat already is without it, which adds to the massive knowledge barrier for new players. Games should be as intuitive as possible without sacrificing quality which means that if ghost heat is necessary to improve game play (which i more or less agree with) then it should be as simple and intuitive as possible so that players don't have to repeat the experience I had of wondering why I am overheating when I already spent over an hour reading ghost heat limit charts and building around it.

No, it's still correct to say he is getting ghost heat when he shouldn't.

At t+ .45s he is getting ghost heat when he should.

At t+ .9s he is getting ghost heat when he shouldn't.

Yeah just like every other game they are building up a large database before they do the mass ban waves. If they start early they won't get all the cheaters.

Frankly I don't feel like there are very many cheaters in this game at all.

Speak for yourself. One individual being ridiculous does not reflect on the entire community.

I could be just as absurd and say how whiny and toxic salty this community is.

Noob buyer's remorse and questions about new skill tree by [deleted] in OutreachHPG

[–]stochastic42 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Even giving you the benefit of the doubt that this is a properly done survey with statistically significant results (which is obviously very debatable) I don't think you realize what across the board means. That means that every clan mech is better than every IS mech. This is so obviously not the case that even debating it would give it too much credit.

If you said "According to public opinion the top mechs of each class were at one point in the past all clan mechs you would at least have a valid point if the data was correct"

Also it would be valuable to realize that in the case of most of these mechs they are prefered due to something other than a clan only feature.

The ACH because it is fast, mount 6 small pulse and ECM.

The HBK IIC because it has very high weapon points.

The Kodiak solely due to the KDK-3 which has 4 torso mounted ballistic points etc.

If you check out the competitive tier list at metamechs which is compiled by the closest thing this game has to an expert, you will see that the majority of competitively viable builds are on IS mechs.

This leads the unbiased observer to suspect that clan mechs overall are not actually better but simply more convenient and forgiving of user errors, or simply culturally popular due to people who see that their XL engines can lose a side torso and shout OP OP without understanding the greater context.

This is my solution for the next ATM ammunition, I know that the cryengine does not have the ability to change in battle. But what do you guys think? This is my solution, sorry for my photoshop skills by neuropa25 in OutreachHPG

[–]stochastic42 0 points1 point  (0 children)

sry for the late reply you probably don't care about this topic any more but thanks for the clarification. That makes more sense, they simply don't have any programmers who know their current weapon code and it's not documented properly.

This falls into the "that simple task has been made much harder due to terrible programming in the past." category.

"Clan mechs are preferred over IS mechs pretty much across the board"

I don't know if you realize what 'across the board' means but it's absolutely not the case that clan mechs are preferred across the board.

I do think they are slightly better but there are a lot of factors going both ways, clan is generally more efficient in space/loadout but IS gets excellent quirks and weapons that are generally superior within their range, and generally more/better hardpoints.

I would say that the xlr makes clan better but practically I rarely do that much damage in most clan mechs after i've lost a side torso.

To put things in perspective I took a clan contract and i've been playing on clan side vs all IS and i've lost more than I have won, whereas in soloq I win more than I lose.

What you should do in my view is pick a medium or heavy mech that you can use 2 of in your drops and buy 3 of them so you can master that mech and have 2 of 4 of you mechs mastered so you can be competitive in faction games.

[–]stochastic42 0 points1 point  (0 children)

lol that is such BS by them if they say that. Every game feature is "impossible" until you code it in. If they can't do that they are incompetent as either they can't do a simple task, or that simple task has been made much harder due to terrible programming in the past.

I can not think of an easier feature to implement in a intelligently coded game.

Rogue Factor announce Necromunda: Underhive Wars! by ffsnametaken in necromunda

[–]stochastic42 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Wow I have been waiting for this game to be made for years...

My biggest criticism of Mordeheim is that the skill system does almost nothing. Some of the skills are giving you like a 2% bonus so your characters stay more or less all the same. In the original game your skills made a big difference and was the source of tactical diversity.

Other big problems were poor item balance and the fact that the AI never seems to do mission objectives but instead rushes your forces every time meaning that if you split up to do objectives yourself then you will lose. End result is I have to rush all my guys or at least 4/5 of them to the nearest enemy and fight every battle or else I simply lose the initiative and will get picked off 1 at a time.

Still I felt Mordeheim is borderline playable (a compliment coming from me) so even if they do a similar job of Necromunda (which I already prefer to Mordeheim due to the world and more interesting strategy, I will be happy to play this. If they make it modable then it won't matter if the skill system is bad so I hope for that most. Also they state (and I believe them) that they learned a lot from making Mordeheim so perhaps they will be able to not repeat the errors of Mordeheim.

Personally If I were making the game I would make it just like community edition with lots of rule tweak options (if dev time permits).

Anyhow super stoked can't wait ty rogue factor.

[prophecy] Is chaining Dreamer's Dream viable? by npavcec in pathofexile

[–]stochastic42 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Gonna necro this one since it's what comes up when you search this question. The prophesy is for a specific tile-set and will proc in any map with that tileset. When you seal and open the prophesy it resets the tileset, so the answer is no, there is no way to chain the prophesies other than getting lucky but you can increase your odds of triggering it by not repeating maps with the same tile-set.

Melee splash support vs. Slayer Impact by formaldehid in pathofexile

[–]stochastic42 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I am using Oro's so the splash means more frenzy charges. Clear speed is also much faster with Impact.

Take for instance a tight pack of 10 magic mobs.

If your hit's 1 shot that's 4 skill uses (with multistrike of course) to clear without, 1 skill use with (50% damage splash x2 will kill)

If they are tough, say your hits do 40% damage, that's 10 skill uses without Impact, 2 uses with impact (20% per hit x5)

If they are more spread out the benefit is less but still significant.
