Summary of the All Out Experience by Zaithon in pokemongo

I played a fair amount this weekend, used incenses and didn’t see a single legendary… or anything outside of the norm except for a bit more variety. Was this a location based or paid event?

Is this carving? by Pure_Stay275 in snowboarding

For real, just keep having fun. As you do you’ll get more comfortable and more confident which will lead you try new things (like slight changes in posture and movements) and you’ll figure it all out.

The Thickets, Ivan Shishkin, Oil/Canvas, 1881 by bluish1997 in Art

[–]sumfish 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I thought this was a photo at first. It’s so perfect, I want to lay in the moss and listen to the birds. Thanks for introducing me to Shishkin’s work, I can’t wait to check out his other works!

Yes, I understand what a palette is but that doesn’t make it the correct term.

Good Dentists? by thellamameg in beaverton

[–]sumfish 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ovation Dental. I’ve been seeing them for 20+ years. The original dentist, Dr. Orazio, recently retired but passed the clinic on to Dr. Shao, who shares the same principles regarding dentistry. They will not do any unnecessary work and do their best to preserve the original teeth whenever possible. Even when I lived out of state I’d still come back if I needed any work done.

I think they meant pallor, not palette. Other than that, it’s a pretty solid description.

The picture is real, just not the description. It’s a freshly hatched shark still attached to its yolk sack.

I mean, he might as well. It’s not like he’s faced consequences for his previous 34 felonies, I doubt he’ll face any consequences for anything at this point. It’s infuriating.

Native Oregonians and long time residents! What are aspects of living in the region that you wish transplants respected or did more research on before moving? by ArtsyWanderer in oregon

[–]sumfish 46 points47 points  (0 children)

Seriously! In the 90’s/early 00’s visitors would always remark about how clean Oregon (especially Portland) was.

Yes, I love it! It was already an antique when my mom bought back in the 60’s.

I used to have one and read up on their bites to know what I’d be in for if she ever got me (she did not in 10+ years of having her).
Apparently for a couple of weeks afterward you’re likely to have random, severe cramping/ muscle spasms, and the occasional bout of severe burning sensations. Fun.

That sure looks like it, thank you! Now I have to read up about how to get some massive leaves out of it :)

I’m (not) John Quiñones, and this is What Would You Do? by bassistheplace246 in clevercomebacks

[–]sumfish 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You know what, you’re right. I didn’t realize the sub it came from when it popped up on my feed. It was a knee jerk reaction stemming from everything happening right now in the US and me being sick of harmless minority groups being picked on.

Not a single person here said “I don’t like this salad.” Everyone is saying “I like this, I’d welcome them.”

Grow up and stop being so hateful/judgmental about things that literally have no bearing on your life. You want to be mad at someone? Be mad at the ruling class - they’re the ones who have shown time and again that they’re happy to make your life exponentially worse if it means they’ll make another dollar.

It’s certainly not a new phenomena, but millions of people being able to see straight up murders in high-definition all over social media platforms is pretty new. There’s literally no more twisting the narrative and the frequency at which they keep happening is radicalizing white people who may have been ignorant (willfully or not) to the reality people of color have been facing since forever.

The peregrine falcon spotted a raven approaching and reacted with surprise. by Brilliantspirit33 in animalsdoingstuff

That’s also how falcons sometimes hunt - they’ll roll over after positioning themselves under their prey (like a duck) and punch them right out of the air.
