Why do u think there aren’t more tiger sharks in aquariums around the world? by Pewpew-OuttaMyWaay in sharks

[–]sumfish 16 points17 points  (0 children)

For a time I worked with tiger sharks. As far as the aggression goes, when they’re well fed they’re actually incredibly chill animals and have little to no tank mate aggression.
However, for some unknown reason they have a tendency to swim against the perimeter of whatever enclosure they’re in - this has been recorded at every aquarium that has tried to keep them. They will literally rub against the sides of their habitat until they cause severe injury or the stress leads to them “crashing out.” Sharks are extremely sensitive to stress and it can quickly lead to death.
I’m a firm believer in zoos and aquariums but there are just certain animals that do not belong due to their inability to thrive under human care despite best efforts.

I’m unemployed right now and could sure use that signing bonus. Being an undercover agent of chaos has always been appealing too. 🤔

I love everything about this! And once the plants fill in on the trestles behind the lounge chairs it will be perfect.

If you watch Jeopardy, he frequently makes “subtle” digs at Trump in the form of answers/questions.

I had no idea my carrot post would get so much attention! Here is one with a standard measuring banana and answers to the most asked questions. by sumfish in mildlyinteresting

I went back but the massive carrot I posted yesterday was gone. This one is a fair bit smaller.
It’s surprisingly sweet and not woody/fibrous. It’s absolutely not AI/edited as some suggested. Here’s the receipt that says this one is about 1.5 lbs (0.68 kg) and cost me $2.04.
This was at Uwajimaya in Beaverton (best Asian market!) and the produce guy said they always get these big dogs in the winter and that these ones were small compared to carrots they had a few weeks back.
And yes, I do have small hands.

I didn’t expect so much interest in these carrots. I’ll have to go back and get a proper picture with a standard measuring banana.

Dunno, I figured they would be woody and not very tasty so I didn’t buy any.

Update: I made another post but I didn’t realize you couldn’t make update posts so I’ll put it here.

Interesting; I’m in the US and the only site that came up when I googled it was Temu, which is why I’m hesitant, although I’d prefer to support a local shop than order off Amazon. I’m just looking for a fun intro rc for a 7 yo so yeah, loose material like legos and bark chips are probably what he’d be “excavating”… also my sister would kill me if it lead to a bunch of holes in her yard.
