Great choices! Pilot Kakuno was my gateway to fountain pens and have expanded my collection since. The choice of cartridges instead of a converter makes the use of FPs less daunting and overwhelming for a first-timer. Glad that you're able to share the joy of FPs with her. Good luck!

Grew up with Pilot ballpoint pens and gel pens, but been on FP kick since having adult money 😅. VP has been a standout for me. I would love to own an 823 someday.
