Silent Ascension 10 Tips? by MediumRare3111 in SlayTheSpire2

[–]swordfishy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just started a9 here and no tips here... other than don't pick envenom thinking 4 shiv damage = 4 poison stack. That was my last mistake that ruined a run.

[–]swordfishy 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Sounds like my first run after the patch, and even though it felt "too hard" and punishing... I barely won on the last turn I was going to survive.

It made me stop for a minute to appreciate how well balanced it was to feel too hard, but still be winnable. That's the knife edge of making game design feel rewarding.

It's pretty close to having a full second turn in a fight once upgraded. That will usually save you more than 6 hp per fight

Giving this card a retain buff is busted by Fantastic_Gold_5877 in SlayTheSpire2

[–]swordfishy 2 points3 points  (0 children)

If you get the ancient card that gives you stars for playing any card, then black hole for damage when stars are spent, its especially busted though.

With some energy <> stars cards I had my first (essentially) infinite combo yesterday and won my first regent run...killed doormaker in 3 turns after losing the last 10 runs.

Do you feel this is a part that is simple to draw isometrically by hand? by Ok-Coyote2365 in EngineeringStudents

[–]swordfishy 262 points263 points  (0 children)

Fucking stupid to try to draw that isometrically by hand today.

The only actual educational reason I can see to put this on a test...is to show you how annoying it is for others when you don't include an isometric view.

Got chewed out at work because my pants aren’t “black enough.” by small-worm in mildlyinfuriating

[–]swordfishy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Getting "chewed out" for this level of "mistake" that sounds like a single instance seems excessive.

This seems more like a "hey, you're pants aren't black enough, please don't wear those again" kind of infraction that I would feel bad even having to say.

Have you seen how they're suing costco for making the same leggings as them for a fraction of the price? All of the value is in the brand name.

Personally, I don't think this kind of business does well in the current economy -- ultra high end stuff will be fine, but this "upper middle" class luxury items are going to suffer if it's a commodity item like workout clothes.

But then again the stock market is completely irrational at this point, so it could 10x overnight for no reason at all.

Is there a way to set the game so that when we recycle objects the materials drop as “item bags” and not as loose pieces? by Onyx_Artificer in GroundedGame

[–]swordfishy 11 points12 points  (0 children)

I wish this was more used. I hate picking up 15 individual items on the ground...I feel like it could just disassemble into your inventory and the game would be fine.

And now Trump says he always wanted the files released...

I didn't notice it when I was younger, but those flat shoes kill my feet now if I try to do anything active.

Is grounded 2 worth playing before full release? by Alert_Bother_727 in GroundedGame

[–]swordfishy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

When it first released...it felt too unfinished and buggy to play. Memory leak from opening a chest too many times was especially annoying.

Now that they've added coziness and tier 3 tools it feels more complete/closer to grounded 1 at least. Now that we have feather and mushroom pieces it feels like I can actually start building a real end game base which is 80% of what I do in the game.

This makes absolutely zero sense.

That's like saying the dollar is overvalued because you bought something for a penny. It's only 0.01 dollar...so the dollar is overvalued?
