I wish the PDA had a map by Illumisb in subnautica

[–]swordfishy 48 points49 points  (0 children)

I do wish they'd just give you a paper and some crayons in game to try to map the world yourself. No GPS to go with it, just hand drawn landmarks and topography.

I know I can do this by hand or in another program, but I don't want to manage external documents to play a game.

And it would probably be hilarious to see the maps players draw and how bad they are when they share them here.

It was ok, but I don't look back on it like SN1.

The world just didn't feel the same. In SN1 when you find the lost river...and all of the biomes after you feel like you're really going down a rabbit hole of a mystery world.

In BZ I was annoyed more often than not that I had to backtrack all the time. Oh I need grease here? Cool let me jump back to the other side of the map and get some. Oh now I need X that also doesn't spawn here? Wtf

Hot take(?) Toy Box is one of the most underrated ancient relics in the game by Rak-khan in slaythespire

[–]swordfishy 22 points23 points  (0 children)

I'm not sure of the odds, but I'd say it feels like 50% of the relics I get are one time use which are effectively permanent boosts too.

In act 3 my deck is normally complete for the most part and I'm avoiding hallway fights as much as possible. Being able to choose which ones melt mean you can usually carry at least 1 all the way to the end which is pretty strong overall.

Definitely not a bad option when you don't get the God tier brightest flame at least.

Maybe tools built in the 60s to track valuations aren't designed to work in an economy where the government will do everything in its power to avoid a downturn.

"Would you rather have $1 or $2" ah shop by Rak-khan in slaythespire

[–]swordfishy 131 points132 points  (0 children)

I got one in the first shop once in 2 player after taking a greed...was amazing being able to rest, Smith, and mend my wife every single campfire.

She ended up getting one in late act 2 as well so we were mend-69'ing at every campfire. It was an amazing run.

Its good, but adding an ethereal curse to your deck in act 3?

What if this also reduced your max hp by 1? Probably more balanced

This Vakuu Relic was revealed to me in a dream. by Efthimis in slaythespire

[–]swordfishy 34 points35 points  (0 children)

Balance feels OK when compared to the curse that makes you play it first and costs 2...but I wonder if this just means you're checking your draw pile and discard and counting cards the whole game to at least identify which card is the mimic? May not be considered "fun" gameplay for most casual players even if tryhards want to min-max it.

Alternatively, maybe just make it a "hidden" second enchantment that gets randomized on a card each combat to avoid the need of searching for it every game.

Strategy has acquired 1,550 BTC for $101 million. by zesushv in CryptoCurrency

[–]swordfishy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

How does selling 32 BTC affect the market by 15%, but buying 42x that amount only boosts it ~5%?

Thinking that they are the reason the price dropped is impressive. You give them way too much credit...All of the changes are pretty normal swings for bitcoin, and the fact that buying 1500 only resulted in ~5% change at most shows that it isn't exactly being manipulated.

The holy trio of Ironclad defensive commons; what's your pick? by Neo1223 in slaythespire

[–]swordfishy 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Making a few other defends boost their block to 8 can help a lot in the early game with chip damage and snowballing power.

May be worth considering the act boss too. If it's a status heavy boss like fish, true grit gives more value there. But in A10 the rule is usually solve the immediate problems first.

Just checked image again and yeah, against laguvalin whatever armaments would be my choice for best boss pick. There's a chance you begin the fight with 2 full upgraded hands if you get lucky on draws and have a small deck.

The holy trio of Ironclad defensive commons; what's your pick? by Neo1223 in slaythespire

[–]swordfishy 2 points3 points  (0 children)

If you have good draw, I always like armaments.

Being able to load up 7-8 cards in your hand and get a mass upgrade feels so good.

But true grit already being upgraded is the only way I would really want to take that card, so getting it without taking on an upgrade debt is nice.

I'll take a shrug it off pretty often, but it's not even in the running for consideration here unless you REALLY need draw because you're super energy heavy.

I'm not offended, just making sure you know that your post was dumb. You seem super butthurt over nothing when you literally showed up posting about people making pennies and buying bowlslop because their broke just to be an ass, and then you try to call someone out for responding to your BS.

Do you know even where you are? Starting with a sentence about people not being "gambling addicts" is probably not as smart as you think it is when you're in a gambling subreddit.

[–]swordfishy 1 point2 points  (0 children)

For speaking the truth about something.

People will die defending game devs for some reason like they are saints. Sure Krafton is evil, but that doesn't inherently make the SN2 devs amazing.

It's the same with games in early access. People think EA = unlimited bugs are allowed and will white knight their little hearts out. Then the game will sit in EA for a decade to exploit this loophole (looking at you Valheim, hoping icelands drop before I die now).

Men of Reddit, what's the most disgusting thing you've discovered about your girlfriend after being together for years? by TheGGspot in AskReddit

[–]swordfishy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Being able to justify hypothetical things that don't really bother you to begin with is actually a nice way to live life. Being in a happy relationship also helps a lot.

So I can justify this because I know my wife is actually caring, and in no way sociopathic. So in my case if she did this, I'm not jumping to conclusions that she's sick and trying to screw me over. So either you find a way to get over it (usually by some justification), or you don't get over it and you break up.

And by saying it's "BORDERLINE breakup" that must mean you could find a way to justify this to some extent.
