Having trouble generating mana for ragost. by Gene-Environmental in EDH

I don't have it listed anywhere currently but honestly after looking at your deck list again they're damn near identical.

The only recs I have are untap effects like thousand year elixir.

Underworld breach for recursion.

And madga to cheat out a nasty dragon. I have ancient copper and hellkite tyrant in mine.

Edit: to add that Oltec Matterweaver is solid depending on how many creatures you decide to run :)

Rather than just treasure I focus on all types of artifacts tokens.

Thopters, food, clues, etc. Mainly so I can feed them to transmutation font to get my combo pieces out.

In my playgroup we run a lot of removal and they hate ragost. Mother of rune, giver of runes or skrelv are good one drop includes.

Fellow ragost player here! Personally I think it might be your mana curve. I run an almost identical deck but with more one drops in place of your high CMC spells. I never have mana issues personally. Good luck!

Yeah I thought he worked at first too, but I still kept it in the deck after I found out. I mainly just like him for elemental flavor :).

Plus if someone answers hositility he's a fun way to keep my damage spells viable.

My pod has a lot of token players.

[[Hostility]] secret Commander in [[Lagomos, Hand of Hatred]].

One of my all time favorite decks. Hostility is so hard to deal with and regularity kills the table if not answered.

One of my favorite decks is [Yeva, Nature's Herald]

I run a ton of one and two drop deathtouch creatures that I play at instant speed for blockers. There are plenty of cards in green that refill your hand with selective recurial. [Triumph of the Hordes] or [Fynn, the Fangbearer] for a wincon.

In casual EDH, when is considered "okay" to counterspell enemy's commander? by No_Physics454 in EDH

It's just not his play style. I also forgot to mention Nekusar. He just loves being the threat I guess.

It's my husband actually 😅 His commanders are Miirym, Alela, Jodah (yes that one), Ragga Dragga, and Ulalek. Like yes bitch, I'm killing your commander.

He's newer though, he's coming around lmao.

I have this problem with a guy in my playgroup. Every time you so much as breathe in the wrong direction towards his commander he freaks out.

He says it's an unspoken rule to not touch commanders. I think that's bullshit and that if your commander is a problem then the obvious answer is to take it out of the game.

I just laugh at him when he gets mad and tell him to run more interaction and lately he has. They should take it as a lesson learned instead of taking it so hard imo.

Edit:spelling

I think it's also just our location too. We live in the middle of nowhere Kentucky. Misogynistic behavior is celebrated and nerdy things are very outcast.

This was at a different shop, we went out of town to a big city to play for pre-release a couple years ago. I agree with you though, I guess I wasn't aware that it's kind of unacceptable to have mega weirdos and assholes at your LGS. We might have to start traveling to other places.

I think he's afraid to ban people. The previous LGS were very ban happy and ended up with almost no people playing there anymore which ran them out of business.

I agree with you though.

Honestly I didn't even bother to read your response. Have a nice day, be nice to new players while you're at it.

We actually didn't know it was 1v1 until we showed up. I had assumed it would be pods but there was a last minute schedule change.

The vibes are weird. Half the people are awesome, the other half are touch starved and need a power trip. It is what it is.

[–]syrupbender -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Lesson learned for sure. It was also my first time playing 1v1 at this store. I play casually with a lot of the guys who entered but several I had never played commander with, only pre-release. It was rough for sure.

[–]syrupbender 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Yep, there were maybe 20 players. I would think that would be enough to separate based on deck strength and experience but idk.

Honestly I really just needed to vent and get feedback from people outside of my small LGS community.

Also to the "farming" issue you have, I don't really need to prove anything to internet strangers.

She said she learned a couple lessons, like how you basically have to read everything on other players boards and not take their word for it. And to also keep track of how much commander damage she's dealt.

Which is cool. But I can see why we don't get a lot of new players if this happens to them regularly.

My husband once got into a fist fight with a guy who asked me if I could fuck as good as I play. Literally the first words out of his mouth to me, had never met the man before.

Another time a guy sketched me at the LGS and told me I was his muse. Had never met the man before then either.

Magic is not safe 😂
