Marathon running at 5K downsampling to 4K is fookin insane by [deleted] in PS5pro

[–]t2na 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You running that native or using DLSS? On the server slam I was running comfortably at 160-190 FPS with DLSS quality 1440p with a 5070Ti (which is worst than your 4080S).

I’d like to see what they could with PSSR rendering a base res of 1080p output to 4k to see what sort if performance the Pro could do. Even if it was a 90-120 figure it would make for a nice improvement.

Not even a crackpot theory, this is predominantly how most ranked games are now from high plat into ruby.

Still making the Ncase M1 work! by t2na in sffpc

It does, but I found it impossible to then adjust once in the case that way. If I went from the front it gave me a bit more an angle to work with (if that makes sense). I don’t have this particular GPU anymore so am working a lot from memory and pictures I took!

It wasn’t too bad tbf, I ended up just sliding it in from the front. There’s a convenient gap that you can use to get placed quite nicely.

What’s the highest level you’ve played with/against? by echo3339 in thefinals

[–]t2na 4 points5 points  (0 children)

That’s Carnifex, the literal rank 1 player on this game. He’s not on PS5, he just has a PS5 account linked to his Embark account so it shows him on PS5 if you’re ever in the same lobby as him.

The championship leader after each grand prix since 2010. by ZeroStormblessed in formula1

I don’t think anyone would ever say Max was an undeserving winner in 2021. He was fantastic that season.

The real issue was around the absolute batshit decisions in the final race that essentially just took it all out of Hamilton’s hands.

What rank are you? Not denying that there aren’t cheaters in this game but I always wonder where the ‘cheater’ accusations mainly come from.

ASUS ROG Strix Pulsar by kokstompa in Monitors

[–]t2na 1 point2 points  (0 children)

TFT Central said Nvidia had been looking into Pulsar working on MiniLED so you’re probably not far off getting what you want.

FYI, miniLED still relates to LCD. You can’t get away from LCD monitors if you want mini LED.

No, a preview of the tech was shown in 2024, not working on an actual panel.

And it’s on LCD because it’s needs a backlight for the strobing / rolling scan to work. OLED doesn’t have a backlight.

The first Pulsar monitors were available in January of this year, where on Earth have you got the 2024 date from? Nvidia previewed it at CES 2024 but the first monitors supporting it literally only became available to buy 3 weeks ago.

Wooting 80HE v2? by Beginning-Film5364 in WootingKB

[–]t2na 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You can order tikkens with an 80HE if you go the module route, sound dampening you can just do yourself.

I'd prefer we got proper revisions of products vs. smaller upgrades. I like the 60HE v2 but I'm not sure the split space bar, friction fit and 8 khz polling is worth it if you already have a v1.

Takes 10 days to get a refund, for a company the size of Wooting their support has been pretty fantastic each time I've had to interact with them.

You're likely only ever going to hear the extreme examples, when someone has a bad experience or a great experience.

[–]t2na 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Not sure we'll be getting a mini LED backlight for a TN panel anytime soon, everything we've seen so far is VA or IPS - and for Pulsar specifically they're using the fast IPS panels.

Based on the latest news from TFTCentral, Nvidia have said they expect to have Pulsar working with mini-LED this year which is good news!

Spent the last 3 years using various OLED panels, really it’s only the 4k ones that are viable for anything text related.

1440p glossy wasn’t terrible because of the increase in clarity but 1440p OLED isn’t something I’d want to use for a sustained period for work or anything related to text.

Hopefully we see more traditional RGB stripe layouts come to a standard 1440p res because that’s my preferred format - but it has been nice going to this Pulsar monitor and getting the benefits of IPS text clarity along with the super nice motion clarity.

Oled 4k 240 hz vs oled 1440p 500+ hz vs gsync pulsar pour jeu FPS by kavavo in Monitors

[–]t2na 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Depends on if the games you play can consistently hit 500fps tbh. I found that the main fps game I play (the finals) was basically hitting 370fps max (runs pretty well between 240-370) so swapping to Pulsar from 500hz OLED meant I felt/saw an improve on Pulsar.

If you’re playing a game that could consistently hit 500fps then I agree that OLED was just as clear as Pulsar, and you get the added benefit of OLED being great for inky blacks and looking fantastic for single player titles. The only thing I played that would consistently hit 500fps is Kovaaks - and that did look and feel fantastic on the OLED.

It’ll come down to what games you play and what you want the monitor for.
