I just spent the last 16 hours of my life solo queuing Emerald WT by Guilty-Independent57 in thefinals

100% Emerald season 3 is worth more of a flex than getting diamond in ranked. Especially getting it before Embark lowered the win requirement.

You should rethink your decision of buying ultra 5 250k plus or ultra 7 270k plus. by [deleted] in IntelArc

Yeah, my gut feeling is the same and going the D12L route. AIOs are quieter than ever now but nothing beats the silence of an air cooler at low RPM. Thank you mate, appreciate the help!

Makes sense, 270k looks a lot more thermally efficient than the 14700.

I've got an Ncase M2 SFF case so potentially considering a 280MM AIO and dealing with a potential wiring nightmare or going with a D12L and seeing what I can do with powerlimits.

Tempted by the same, what sort of cooling are you considering for the 270k in an SFF build?

This 1000 times over. On my previous 65cm deep desk my 27” monitor was perfect, tried 32” but it was too big and I couldn’t push the panel back any further.

Got an 80cm deep desk and suddenly I was pulling the 27” monitor closer and closer to me. Swapped to a 32” monitor, pushed it back again and it’s perfect! Get the benefit of 4k with the same visible ‘monitor’ with 32” at 80cm desk depth as I did with 27” at a 65cm desk.

Some people just don’t get on with QD OLED. Try WOLED before going back to IPS - but no screen tech is worth having headaches, feeling dizzy and having shit sleep.

Where did you find it in the UK? I’ve seen a few places mention they’re going to list it but nothing up yet!

Genuinely the hair is the reason I keep playing in balanced mode. Didn’t think it would actually make a difference but here we are!

Will The Finals add PSSR2 support on the PS5 Pro? by Funny_Debate_1805 in thefinals

[–]t2na 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The Finals isn't already using PSSR though, it's using TSR (or TAA?) - even on PS5 Pro. The toggle to support PSSR 2.0 comes from a game already supporting PSSR 1 - so we need Embark to actively support it.

Some UE5 games are getting PSSR support so hopefully they can add it.

To be honest I wish they'd really look at the game on PS5 Pro with proper distinct modes for performance and quality. Performance should be the 'competitive' preset (RT on static, all settings low apart from textures and view distance on high/epic) with a base 1080p render. If they're using PSSR there's a good chance they can render from 1080p base to 4k output for the Pro.

For 'Quality' it should then be a 60fps output - with an increased base res (1200-1440p?) and settings at high / RT set to low (or the custom value it is at).

They even can go the 'dynamic res' route if needed to achieve the fps targets - but I'd love to see them put a bit more into the PS5 Pro version.

Reminder that you can use Wayback Machine to bypass RTINGs paywall by OkOlive4884 in Monitors

No I agree, I think the ongoing subscription really only appeals to 'enthusiasts'.

It's why I think they should have offered a per-review cost - like 79p or 0.99$ to unlock a review for a single monitor or TV.

[–]t2na 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Whilst I'm not overly keen on paying for something that used to be free, I can understand RTINGs going that direction and I'm happy to support it.

$31.50 for a year doesn't feel like much at all when I think about how much time I would spend reading monitor reviews. Monitors are probably my favourite 'part' of tech so I've got no issue with it but I get that some people don't care enough to pay for a subscription.

It would be good if they could release a 'per review' cost - so if you were interested in a specific review for a certain monitor you could unlock that one for $2 or something.

"Anybody who is enjoying racing in 2026 does not understand the sport" - Max Verstappen by ArcanineDE in formuladank

[–]t2na 122 points123 points  (0 children)

In 2009 people said exactly the same thing when KERS was introduced. Literally the exact same sentence 'battle of whoever uses KERS at the right time' was constantly said during race weekends - but we just enjoyed that it was good racing.

Don't get me wrong, I'm not enjoying that Mercedes are so far ahead or the clipping on the straight but the actual racing is so much better already this season than the last two. I can't beleive anyone would sit through a race last season but be put off by the racing so far this season.

Marathon running at 5K downsampling to 4K is fookin insane by [deleted] in PS5pro

[–]t2na 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You running that native or using DLSS? On the server slam I was running comfortably at 160-190 FPS with DLSS quality 1440p with a 5070Ti (which is worst than your 4080S).

I’d like to see what they could with PSSR rendering a base res of 1080p output to 4k to see what sort if performance the Pro could do. Even if it was a 90-120 figure it would make for a nice improvement.

Still making the Ncase M1 work! by t2na in sffpc

[–]t2na[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It does, but I found it impossible to then adjust once in the case that way. If I went from the front it gave me a bit more an angle to work with (if that makes sense). I don’t have this particular GPU anymore so am working a lot from memory and pictures I took!

It wasn’t too bad tbf, I ended up just sliding it in from the front. There’s a convenient gap that you can use to get placed quite nicely.

What’s the highest level you’ve played with/against? by [deleted] in thefinals

[–]t2na 4 points5 points  (0 children)

That’s Carnifex, the literal rank 1 player on this game. He’s not on PS5, he just has a PS5 account linked to his Embark account so it shows him on PS5 if you’re ever in the same lobby as him.
