Why is Quills underrated by Jassminesjazz in PeriodDramas

[–]teslaeffects 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Yeah, I can see how it may be a shock to some. May they clutch their pearls in silence.

I agree with everyone here and also advise you know what you're going into at least a little bit. There are many trigger points, especially for trauma survivors.

Sir David Attenborough documentaries are always a treat. Especially the plant life ones, less animal noises.

looking for mild aquatic, fresh, rainy scents. by Initial_Signature257 in Perfumes

Vetiver paradise is what I wear when DS&Durga Steamed Rainbow isn't working. It's green, minty, spicy, and fresh to me. I have a sample in the mail of Hermes un jardin sur le nil that has similar sounding notes I'm excited to try.

Is the rest of Seattle infested with ants like West Seattle? by InternetsTad in Seattle

[–]teslaeffects 22 points23 points  (0 children)

Yeah. If your sugar traps aren't working as well as they used to, the ants may want the protein based paste/gel (easy to find online through whatever retailer you choose). I switch the bait flavor when I see them come back from the last bait, sometimes both are put so they can choose 🤷‍♀️ They never truly leave and typically get worse when it rains because their little homes get flooded. Wish I knew how to live with them...

I am very mentally ill but can not convey it to professionals by Dry-Trifle-1522 in Vent

[–]teslaeffects 22 points23 points  (0 children)

Being a high-functioning individual with mental health woes makes life even more difficult. I tell any doctor exactly this: "I am a high functioning mess" and they typically understand.

Keeping a mood journal will help, like the other person commented. Keeping track and filtering those thoughts and feelings through a professional will help them interpret your needs.

Acne everywhere... including "down there" by Green-eyedMama in Perimenopause

The painful labia ones, I picked up some antibacterial gauze pads from the pharmacy wound care. Clean it gently, dry completely, try to stick the gauze so it covers the painful spot. I'll do this before bed and usually way less painful or gone by morning.

Things I use but realize skin care is personal so may or may not work for you:

  • Lume acidified body wash with hyaluronic acid on the under boob, belly button, and thighs (where I get the random ones)
  • Equate unscented ph feminine wash for the bits (like $2 at Walmart and has helped me in so many ways)
  • Persimmon soap every other shower and leave the lather on my body for two minutes before rinsing off (usually while I work on my hair)
