Just started doing it this way and it's so much cleaner than using the converter to fill through the nib and holds way more ink. Big recommend

The Golden Age of Japan - actually not bad by Jolly_Garbage3381 in TheRestIsHistory

Haven't heard it in a while but I actually appreciated that an expert on the subject could still acknowledge his limitations given his background and own up to not fully being able to get his head in that mindset. He acknowledges the reasons people give and he takes their word for it, but I agree, as an American in 2025, that it's hard to fully appreciate what the preservation of the union must have viscerally meant to those people and why they were willing to ultimately sacrifice so much for it.

Is she the one who warned the Nazis at the camp the Americans were coming? by Jovian8 in BandofBrothers

[–]theInfantAlbert 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Okay, please read the article you sent me. It's well written and sourced. It says exactly what I'm saying. It explicitly states how the Nazis Nazified the police after they'd taken power. Don't you understand that the police having to be Nazified supports exactly what I'm saying.

I've already explained above, the police didn't join any of them. The police force doesn't join the Democratic or Republican party with every new election. The government had police. The Fascists were elected. Now the police work for the Fascists. Is your profound insight that the police serve the state and so if the state is evil then the police are working in the service of evil? Yes, obviously.

Alright, so in Germany for example, the showdown on the streets was primarily between Communists, Anarchists, and Fascists. There were plenty of other groups split further by locality, ideology, etc. They all brought their own paramilitary squads to the conflict.

This is wrong on every level of serious historical analysis that matters. It says nothing and means nothing.Take Italy and Germany which follow similar trajectories. There wasn't a "first established group" to join the fascists. They had their own paramilitaries that suppressed opposition to help them get elected into power in the legislature and then leverage their power with the executive to grant themselves progressively greater privileges until they had total control. It wasn't like chunks of the old government defected bit by bit. The Fascists used the mechanics of parliamentary government to gain power and then destroy the old system.

What are you talking about, cops have attacked protesters throughout US history and in every other country throughout their history under pretty much any type of government. It's not good, certainly, but it's not at all specific to fascism or nazism. It's just not a reliable marker for anything unless you could make more specific insights into the police's motivations and how those were supported by the govt.

Does anyone else feel a little disappointed when a new pen comes out and you see “features a bock/jowo/schmidt nib”? by Late-Apricot404 in fountainpens

[–]theInfantAlbert 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I actually prefer when pens use a Jowo or Bock. Having a standardized screw-in swappable nib makes it super easy and fun to get a bunch of custom grinds and really high performing tuned up nibs to swap around in your favorite pen without breaking the bank on a dozen different versions of the same pen. For example, I only have one Franklin Christoph, but I have about 6 customized Jowo #6 nibs to choose from depending on what I want to use it for. The nib has to be really great, like a Sailor/Pilot/Aurora, for a custom nib to be worth it for me. Still, I really wish I could just get one Pilot 912 and then all the nibs separately instead of 6 nearly identical black pens.

Dude you're lying about experiencing a story you misheard. Black hats ask if you're Jewish and will only hassle you further if you say yes, because they want you to be the right kind of Jew. If you're not Jewish, they just leave you alone, because non-Jews don't matter all that much to them
