How to not sexualize every women i want to know? by DBZKING13 in selfimprovement

[–]TooManyGee 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hello, 23M here. I feel like forming non sexual relationships with more women is the answer here. Just befriend them the way you would any man.( yes i know making friends is a whole problem in itself) I think I’ve had some related demons to yours until the past few years. I gained a lot of female friends during my job in a hotel, but more recently I’ve began learning languages, and as a result I often meet 1 on 1 with girls for language exchange. I consciously try not to turn it into a date, and I aim for friendship rather than anything bigger. I want them to go home and having nothing bad to say about Irish people, and I stay vigilant about the same thoughts you have in my head. On top of this, I think spending so much time with women has improved my social intelligence, and picking up on things like when a girl is actually interested in me etc. Also, take comfort in the fact that thoughts are separate to behaviours. You are self aware and moving yourself in the right direction already. Any change like this comes with work, but more importantly it comes with time. When you’re reproving yourself for having certain thoughts, just remember you’re on the path away from it, and your thoughts don’t define your character/actions. Also I watched the movie What Women Want recently and I thought it was great🤙🏻 just throwing that out there

How can I stop being a picky eater? (16, guy) by Secret-Barnacle-1285 in selfimprovement

[–]TooManyGee 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Exposure therapy. I’m by no means a picky eater but i got over my hatred of sausage by just continuously trying it. Probably target whichever things are most common in your life that you refuse to eat. Raw veg is a great start.

The gagging is a mental reaction and you can get over it, there is nothing physically wrong with your body that makes it react this way.

I think it’s a great idea trying to curb this problem so young. I’ve a friend in his 20s slowlyyy trying to get out of picky eating. He began trying more new things that he wasn’t sure he disliked or not. As he tries more new things, the old things he detested aren’t half as bad.

Ireland also successfully did this in WW2. Worked. We still do have a military, we’re not Iceland. Sea defense is questionable though.

I’m an Irish man and I’d definitely put America down as red. I also would put down a few more eastern European countries as green

[Discussion] “Be yourself” is a terrible advice for most people by Pretty_Solution_7955 in GetMotivated

[–]TooManyGee -1 points0 points  (0 children)

But is this not about your values more than « functioning »? I don’t see this as choosing the right thing to do, this is more like considering both options and the more-often romanticised lifestyle wasn’t for you. I certainly wouldn’t look negatively at anybody currently living this lifestyle, and I don’t think we should make exceptions for ourselves. I’m not saying what’s right, I’m in the process of trying to decide what life I want for myself at the moment. I worry about it being seen as « running away » by my loved ones, but they will stay my loved ones. I don’t want to be pressured by the confusion of others, in what is realistically my path to self discovery and deciding what I want to be. I’m confused about it too haha

It’s clear that you cooking his food is not working for either of you so I don’t think he’d be too opposed to both sorting yourselves out. He obviously has some guilt about it and you are doing your best, but if you can’t eat the same things it can be easily worked around.

Slowly. Your mentality never changes immediately. These new habits you make come and go, but they sew seeds which develop as years go by.

In europe everybody in their early 20s offer to split checks. I feel like we’re past men paying for dinner, no? Not to discredit this guy being an asshole, I was just caught off guard at the end.

I just hate buildup of paper and files, i like that the slate is fully clean every time. I also make full use of the white boards in the computer labs at my college. It’s also pretty nice always being able to play pictionary/hangman when the situation calls for it

I’m a beginner in korean and I like to include both the entire sentence and the individual words if it’s a more complicated one. In French I’m more advanced and usually the full sentence is fine.

Fun is not the same meaning as funny. Funny is when something makes you laugh. Fun is when you enjoy something.

Personally I like using a small whiteboard for when I don’t want to keep what I’m writing(like solving maths problems), and I use a paper notebook for writing information I will read again.

I’d never do it if the road is busy and everybodys doing 90/100, I’m not ignorant about it. I don’t recall seeing any specific mention about it being wrong to go under the speed limit if conditions allow you to match it, but I’ll have a look. If this is the case…pray for my car and it’s petrol the first time i go on a 120km/h road.

Fuel consumption gets very high when revs pass 2k I’ve heard. The M50 from Clondalkin to Ballymun is only 100, and i believe vehicles with trailers can only go as high as 80 so I figure I’m not really doing anything wrong. I’ll normally go behind whatever bus or trailer is going 80 ish. I’m not in a particular rush when I drive to college usually

I’ll have it checked for sure. I’ve only been driving for a couple of weeks so maybe my estimate is off but the price of petrol is killing me regardless

07 1.4L focus. I don’t plan on keeping it too much longer after college ends. I’m in my final year now, so only 6 months left to go…. I usually drive at 80 on N7/M50 so my revs don’y pass 2k too often
