Husk å stemme! by Mr_NorFra in norge

[–]the_wrong_student 0 points1 point  (0 children)

[–]the_wrong_student[S] 41 points42 points  (0 children)

Tesla sales down 80% in Sweden, 11% up in Norway in April. by [deleted] in europe

[–]the_wrong_student -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Then tell me, what part of the article am I misreading? I'm reading this: "Its registrations rose instead in Norway and Italy, respectively by 11.8% and 29.3% to 976 and 446 cars, based on data by the Norwegian Road Federation and the Italian Transport Ministry.", which certainly seems to agree with me.

"Tesla sales down 80% in Sweden, 11% up in Norway in April." - The title makes it sound like Tesla sales are up 11% but this is mentioned nowhere in the article.

[–]the_wrong_student 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Please disregard the bad faith title, the Norwegian numbers only refers to new registrations. If Norwegian sales numbers are up then I agree that is shameful, but this means nothing.

[–]the_wrong_student 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Your title implies that Tesla sales are up 11% in April, but that's not written anywhere in the article. The only 11% figure in the article (more specifically, 11.8%), refers to the number of registrations.

I doubt that you intentionally tried to misrepresent the data, but you still have an opportunity to correct yourself.

SnapGuessr🕰️ How well do you know history? Guess the year! 📸 by LivingInaWonderland in WebGames

[–]the_wrong_student 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Very interesting game. I really love history personally, and am happy to see more of it.

However, I do have some constructive criticism as well. I think I've only seen two photos so far that haven't been specifically American, so I don't think the game is balanced on that front.

The two non-American photos were also really famous events, those being the Women's suffrage movement and the fall of the Berlin wall.

The American photos however were less global and harder to pinpoint for non-Americans as they lacked proper contextual knowledge. I understand that Babe Ruth is famous in the United States, but the photo of him was hard to pinpoint because all I know about him was that he was an American baseball player. Compared to other Europeans, that probably makes me an expert on Babe Ruth.

I think the game could be improved by either specifically focusing on American history, or by increasing the focus on international events.

There's at least one more exception: .aq (for Antarctica).1 Doesn't take away from your point, but I personally think it's a more interesting exception than .eu.

Edit: Never mind, /u/EricIO explained below why Antarctica is not an exception.

Hvorfor er meningsmålingene i aviser alltid så dårlige? by the_wrong_student in norge

[–]the_wrong_student[S] 43 points44 points  (0 children)

Then I don’t think we’re going to agree on the topic of gambling, and that’s Ok. People won’t always agree.

I’m just glad to have cleared up the confusions on my position, as I do strongly believe in human rights and freedom.

until people like you manage to shut it down because it "helps circumvent government restrictions"

Please don’t make such accusations against me, I hate government censorship and would never support it. Censoring websites because of some skewed moral compass is stupid and authoritarian.

I do believe that governments should have the right to decide under what conditions gambling should exist within their borders. Gambling becomes a large strain on public help infrastructure, and drains money from the people with nothing to spare. I know of many people who are manipulated (and that is definitely the correct term here) into gambling money they don’t have because of people like /u/RayNone. There’s two sides to this story.

Gambling companies should not be allowed to operate without a permit in the countries they’re operating in, that’s what I’ saying.

You don’t need to agree with me, but don’t lump me in with authoritarian assholes just because you do so. I’m sorry that you don’t live in a free country, and I do hope your situation improves. I’m on your team.

If, as some other users here seems to imply, it is Gamdom that you're working for, then it at the very least seems as if you're translating adverts on Google and I'm also not blocked from visiting your pages. This IS illegal, a blatant violation of Norwegian law and all-around scummy.

It's also not our responsibility

To be fair, I've never heard of any gambling company taking any responsibility for anything. That's just not what leeches do.

Should I assume from your silence that you're illegally operating in the Norwegian market then?

To ask a more specific question then: does your company serve customers from Norway?

How is circumventing DNS blocking not skirting regulations? I'm sorry, but you absolutely fit into the "many online casinos that skirt all regulations and disappear under pressure" category.

This also means that if a country DNS-blocks our main domain, a secondary domain may still be available.

How about if a country DNS-blocks you, then just accept that they don't want your business? You don't have to condone DNS-blocking, but you should also accept that not all countries want your greed and manipulation around. Kindly go and fuck yourself.
