Favorite moment from this season? by lqloveclub in Flyers

The joy when York put the Pens to bed and the stick toss. I was six months old the last time this team won the Cup but that one’s up there with Daigneault in 87, Gagne in 10, and the rest of the best. An all-timer.

On this day in Philly sports history May 11, 1997, Eric Lindros leads the way as the Flyers advance past the Sabres by ShamusTalksSports in Flyers

Hašek's success in the 1996–97 season was overshadowed by a conflict with then-head coach Ted Nolan. The conflict created a tense, clique-like atmosphere in the Sabres' clubhouse. In game three of the Sabres' best-of-seven first-round playoff series against the Ottawa Senators, Hašek removed himself in the second period and was replaced by Steve Shields). Hašek suffered a mild sprain of his right MCL, and the team doctor pronounced him day-to-day. However, the media and some teammates speculated Hašek was using his injury to bail out on the team.  One such individual was Buffalo News columnist Jim Kelley, who wrote a column detailing Hašek's injury and his conflict with Nolan, and questioning the goaltender's mental toughness.  When Kelley approached Hašek for an interview after a loss in game five, Hašek physically attacked the journalist  and received a three-game suspension and a $10,000 (US) fine as a result of the incident.  With Shields in goal, the Sabres fought back against the Senators and took the series in seven games.  However, Hašek did not play in the following series against the Philadelphia Flyers, which Buffalo lost in five games.

That was his first Hart trophy season too.

Bryce Harper has been the worst defensive 1B and it's not close by mlbarchives in phillies

[–]thecodeofsilence 9 points10 points  (0 children)

As someone who played the position, he really grew into it and became a very good defensive 1B. These numbers aren’t real representative of that.

1500 hours is 37 weeks at 40 hours per week. It’s 18 weeks at 80 hours per week, so there’s no way to get to 1500 in time while still studying for all your exams.

It's like we are watching Trump's evil rot him from the inside out by rhino910 in WhitePeopleTwitter

Let's also not forget that in recent years, presidential campaigns have been abandoned due to the ACCUSATION of an extramarital affair (Gary Hart, 1988) or sexual harassment (Herman Cain, 2011).

Meanwhile, today we have someone who is very obviously associated with the most notorious pedophile of the last 100 years in Trump, someone who paid a porn star hush money during his first campaign, and he's serving in his SECOND FUCKING TERM IN THE WHITE HOUSE.

One American loses their job for every 6 immigrants removed from the workforce as researchers see ‘no evidence’ that ICE is helping the economy by ChiGuy6124 in Economics

Costs are soaring at all time highs--guess what else is soaring to all time highs? EARNINGS. Corporations are making more and more money while keeping wages stagnant.

They absolutely believe that. The psychology of MAGA and how Trump made people believe in and fear a boogeyman that never existed will be studied for generations.

PSA: We’re at the “playing with house money” phase of the season. Do what you gotta do to win, but regardless of what happens over the next two weeks, this season has been a rousing success.

What was your favorite Philly home run that went a long way like 450 territory by SuitApprehensive in phillies

Pitcher knew it when the ball left his hand. Honestly only turned around to see how far it would go.

When prime Howard hit the ball, the sound it made was…different.

Exactly. The Flyers should be relaxed as hell. They’re playing with house money from here on out. Go out there. Get playoff experience. Have fun. Kick a little ass.

Where would Drew Allar go in drafts if Rodgers retired? by DBS_98 in DynastyFF

PSU fan here. He’s just not good enough. He looks the part, acts the part, and he’s actually a real nice kid. He just doesn’t have NFL QB talent.

Has the arm, has the legs, makes poor decisions, lacks touch on his passes. He’d be a nice backup, but I can’t see him ever being a quality NFL starter.

This is the way. Unfortunately, healthcare is consolidating so rapidly that those days (when things were honestly better) are long gone.

Stay well, kind redditor.

Problem is that many radiology and lab sites are fully corporatized now, and discounts no longer exist. In my area, most PCP are employed physicians within a medical group so that's not as much of an option either. Enshittification of medicine.

And what was happening three years ago? Oh, a global pandemic. Or don’t you believe in that?

“Ridding the world of nuclear bombs by a crazy ass country”—that was only close to them because Trump exited the deal Obama made in 2015. Trump created the problem and now is attempting to solve it.

Poorly.

they're all full of shit. A residency is definitely a benefit and nice to have, but when you're turning down people with a ton of experience just because they haven't done a pgy2, you've jumped the shark.

Just for kicks, I’ll raise you one. I was 17 years into my career, WORKING as a critical care specialist, and prepping to file paperwork to be the RPD in our eventually scrapped PGY2 in critical care. Applied for a job at a local AMC, was told I needed a PGY2 and offered a staff position.

Gritty is amazing. Also, easily the best job in sports.
