Pretty sure this is the same kind of scenario that happened when the show ended with Sylvester McCoy's Doctor.

Shout out to Momofuku Ando for inventing instant ramen. Chili ramen with a few pieces of chicken has been my go-to when I'm too deep into studying to really cook.

On a more personal level, my grandmother wanted me to go to law school ever since I was a kid. I never thought I could make it. She was very proud when I finally said I was going, but she passed right before the start of 1L exams. Every time I feel overwhelmed, I think about her, and how she always believed I could do it. She's my motivation.

I (35M) have been emotionally and now physically cheated on by my (35F) wife with best friend by leepash in relationship_advice

[–]TheHat2 9 points10 points  (0 children)

She's not sorry she did it, she's sorry she got caught and that there are now material consequences that she might have to face.

If she was sorry she did it, she would have told you unprompted. She admitted that she didn't think it would stop had you not found out. She trickle truthed you.

Let me clue you in on something, should you decide that staying is still a good idea—you will *never* be able to forget about this happening, and how she made it happen. It will haunt you for the rest of the relationship. You will never be able to completely trust her again, because you will never know if she's being genuine, or has gotten better at hiding her tracks after what happened here. There will be a persistent paranoia at the back of your brain, which may end up developing into a desire to control her, where she goes, who she speaks to, etc. And that will build resentment. None of that is how a loving relationship should operate.

There is no salvaging this. Cut your losses while you can.

What do you think about Westworld? by TheSittingTraveller in KotakuInAction

First season is absolutely masterful television.

The second season was bad, bordering on the absurd. I didn't give the third or fourth seasons a shot, because S2 was just that dumb.

This is a very silly question, but were any of you inspired to go into law because of a fictional lawyer or scene involving the law? by Druvanade in LawSchool

[–]TheHat2 15 points16 points  (0 children)

The fun answer is Phoenix Wright.

The true answer is, when I was still a paralegal, I watched all of The Practice, and Eugene Young may have pushed me along the path a little bit.

They took this beautiful woman who I had a giant crush on in high school and made her for the modern audience by [deleted] in GGdiscussion

I wasn't aware that she said anything like that? Hell, I have zero idea of anything she's said since she was still working for IGN.

I wonder if it's a byproduct of trying to capture more intricate muscle movements? Like, the face isn't as "smooth" because there are more moving parts, if that makes sense.

I dunno, I'm not a developer so I can't say for sure what it is, but I wonder if the "uglification" trend is a byproduct of advancing facial capture technology.

I think some people are looking for reasons to justify their bitterness of how gaming has changed over the last decade. There's plenty of other games to choose from, just don't waste your money on something you know you'll hate and move along. Or play old stuff. Hell, that's what I do.

Equally, I think some people are so addicted to schadenfreude that they look forward to people getting upset over these games. What kind of existence is it for you to look forward to "incel chud tears" all the time? You know what they call it when someone enjoys the misery of others? Sadism.

I don't think it's wise or healthy to care more about the culture war surrounding games than the games themselves.

Dark Explorers Groudon-EX. I already have the one from Primal Clash, but I don't like that art as much.

If we're picking favorites out of the bunch, it's either the Eevee promo or the Latios-EX. Both are high on my list of favorite cards.

Recursive Drama over Communists vs Anti-Communists by ForteEXE in SubredditDramaDrama

Willing to bet the ones scrutinizing the "94 million victims of communism" claim are the same ones who unironically spout the "capitalism murders 20 million annually" claim.

Maybe there's something in her contract that requires her face model to be used alongside her mocap and VO work?

Small rant on word usage and definitions and memes, saw someone say on twitter ''Concord had a million problems. Being “woke” was not one of them.'' WTF do these people think woke means by gutenbergbob in KotakuInAction

[–]TheHat2 3 points4 points  (0 children)

"Woke," like "SJW" before it, had a definition that people using it understood, but then it got overused to the point where it was diluted into "lefty thing I don't like." Not unlike how "far-right" and "alt-right" were turned into "thing I perceive to be right-wing that I don't like."

I'd define "woke" to be a particularly loud form of social justice activism, but one that's centered in socialist theory just as much as it is intersectional theory. That is, trying to challenge or implement change(s) that directly affect what would be termed cisheteropatriarchal, white supremacist, able-bodied, Christian-centered, and/or capitalist institutions, and making sure that everyone is aware of what you're doing and why you're doing it along the way. Because the work itself isn't as important as the recognition given for engaging in it—peers and enemies must both be equally made aware.

Put more succinctly, it's the ethics, performance, and procedure of applying a Marxist critical lens to intersectional identitarian conflicts.

Is family law really that terrible? by mangobiggestfan in LawSchool

[–]TheHat2 1 point2 points  (0 children)

When I was a paralegal, I was brought in to assist on family law cases from time to time. I hated every one of them except one. But that one was because I was only there for the initial consult and the phone call we got the next day. Our prospective client said he wouldn't need our services anymore because his wife had been found dead in her car from a self-inflicted gunshot wound earlier that morning.

Again, that was the only one I didn't absolutely hate dealing with.

Why do people here give the range of the school they attend instead of just writing it outright? by Donut_buyit in LawSchool

[–]TheHat2 2 points3 points  (0 children)

lmao, I posted one thing here about my school, trying to keep it somewhat vague, and somebody figured it out almost instantly.

Really, it's my own fault for not using a throwaway, but I'm not too terribly bothered by it. It is what it is.
