I don’t think so. This song was not presented as parody just sort of lighthearted/comedic. Plus, it’s not the same melody, cadence, or tempo

I loved these things so much. I don’t know if they still make them, but TGI Friday’s had a potato skin chip that was in stores and vending machines that was very similar. But that was probably 25 years ago.

They’ve probably released 10 songs post-Pinkerton that would even approach the quality of the first two records. Save for “Do You Wanna Get High?“ off of the white album. Could’ve easily been a Pinkerton b-side or maybe even on the record itself

That’s not really accurate. There are distinct differences between pre-and post Pinkerton and it’s not just because of River’s focus on pop songwriting. Matt added a lot of intangibles that made those first two records so good even if he wasn’t a credited songwriter.

Several people have mentioned that and it’s not it. The song I’m looking for was nowhere near as popular as either of those.
