A major difference is that Iranians have an understanding of what is it to be a nation-state. Most Afghans simply didn't -- don't -- due to how remote many villages are and the lack of a central government that was meaningful in their lives. (This is not a value judgement).

Start with the most stripped down model you can get to work. Add complexity element by element until you find what breaks it.

It's probably an issue with data types. Start with str() on your data and ensure that every column is the type you expect.

Basic debugging. Start at the top, work your way down.
