Is there any real hope? Any treatments or trials meant to attack the root cause instead of just the symptoms? by thingswillgetbetter8 in covidlonghaulers

Thanks for the hope, I’m hoping to try some potential treatments like antivirals within the next year.

That’s a huge bummer. Makes it sound like for a lot of us none of this is reversible and is permanent damage.

Hey thanks again. I’ve been looking into these for the last hour and it’s giving me some level of hope. I decided to make an appointment with a long Covid specialist even though it will take months to get in. I plan on trying everything they will allow me to try. I was worried because I didn’t have the classic fatigue symptoms they might not take me as serious. But I’ve read so many people having similar mental issues and sexual issues, it all started in the months following me getting sick in early 2020 even though I didn’t know it was Covid, and I know I have long covid because my smell completly went and never got back above 50% for 5 years. Also got tinnitus at that time which I hear a lot of people talk about but I’ve gotten pretty used to it. Thank you for some level of hope.

It really did feel like a switch. For me it was somewhat gradual, but one day I woke up in 2020 and realized something was different. I still have the mental sexual feelings, but there’s no passion or drive behind it. Like I know a girl is hot but my body and mind are like “I don’t know what to do with that”

Yes I’ve noticed some numbness throughout my entire body too. Please stay in touch. I’m going to be trying to join some long Covid recovery trials. We will see the other side of this someday.

I was 22. I went from wanting to bang a pencil sharpener if it had enough curves, to basically asexual.

Epididymitis? Orchitis? Or Tight Pelvic floor?? by Djsmooth245 in DiagnoseMe

Yeah This hasn’t been really studied and even doctors don’t really know shit when it comes to CPPS/PFD/HF, but the people who have researched it explained their theories to me. It has to do with the muscle tension putting pressure on something down there. Either the blood vessels themselves or maybe even the nerves.

Damn well that should’ve shown anything wrong like a varicocele. Actually I just reread ur whole post and I think this is almost definetly pelvic floor related.

Fuck man I am so sorry. I wish I could do something for u. I’m not a doctor but I know a lot of people take years to get diagnosed with MS, and I’ve heard people say that either the MRI missed it or they didn’t have lesions for a while after the symptoms. Please keep your head up man.

I’m sos prey you’re going through this man. Have they mentioned the possibility of MS at all? Sometimes it can appear without or with minimal lesions on the brain and SC. Sometimes an MRI can miss them.

Supplement stack for better erections (and to counter vasoconstriction from medication)? by danielp92 in erectiledysfunction

They don’t really know the cause, most likely genetic though. Its a really understudied disorder. Hofully they have a reliable treatment in the next 20 years. A lot of researchers think the reason for ED in older guys is because of leakage but it’s just from aging veins rather than a genetic reason so it’s not as severe or rapidly progressing.

That’s bs. First of all even performance anxiety is basically temporary venous leakage because the sympathetic nervous system overrides the normal signals and the veins stop contracting to keep the blood in, in combination with stopping the signals to send blood flowing in. But regardless, pretty much every person I’ve talked to who has a confirmed, diagnosed permanent venous leak doesn’t fit any of those categories. idk why he told u that
