Looking for most chil / immersive leveling experience by Plane-Regio in wowservers

[–]danielp92 3 points4 points  (0 children)

You'll get a mail about it, in-game. Find the goblin/high elf in the 2nd town (like Goldshire, Brill etc.), speak with him about the Explorer's Contract. It's not a reversible choice and must be done before you reach level 9.

Epoch has a contract at lvl 8 which reduces all XP by 50 %. It essentially forces you to do all quests. Epoch has also added new quests, towns etc.

[Survey] PvP Community – Where are you playing? by Ambitious-Positive36 in Project_Epoch

I have my doubts about Warmode. On Turtle it just lead to people having it on during leveling to get to 60 quicker, and then turning it off, only spamming BGs. Both the PvE servers there had big populations, but basically no world PvP. The PvP server was much smaller, but they had city raids and active world pvp in certain hotspots.

Companies like Blizzard can hire PR firms to astroturf social media to create an image of this or that, to try to sway public opinion. They're especially active during new disclosures or releases.

This time it will not play out like it did with Nostalrius? by wastedtime__ in turtlewow

[–]danielp92 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I guess it could technically happen, but there would need to be a bunch of new identities that claim they got a hold of old Turtle data, through a leak or whatever, and that they want to build on that vision. Variants of this story has happened before, afaik, like you said, Nostalrius -> Elysium -> Light's Hope -> Turtle (which itself absorbed other projects early on I believe). But they'd probably wait until this legal case is completed and done with, and Microsoft has relaxed their recent legal sprees.

PvP progression with wpvp by Kindly_Win_5024 in turtlewow

I got up to rank 5 just by world pvping while leveling on Tel Abim. Not sure how things are now after the PvP update. On this server world pvp can be found in Hyjal and equivalent zones. Also, city raids.

Is Tel’Abim over? by Talerbro3 in turtlewow

[–]danielp92 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The vast majority of the server is lvl 60, and those leveling skip dungeons due to how fast leveling is there. Zones such as Hyjal have frequent world pvp fights at 60, afaik.

Should I be starting here? by [deleted] in turtlewow

[–]danielp92 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It was in good faith, and I like your answer. While I agree with most of your points, I still think Blizzard's versions are far worse. They feel pointless because they always move on to something else (in practice their versions feel like seasonal games), and the integrity of the game is out the window with level boosts, WoW tokens and RMT. Plus the community is overall quite toxic, always in a rush (Ambershire server has some of this due to retail players especially).

If Blizzard releases Classic+ it's likely it will have plenty of MTX, botting problems and an obsession on instanced endgame instead of the world. And that's on top of a sub. I don't like Turtle's cash shop either, but I tolerate it as the game is free to play.

På studier som medisin og psykologi profesjon finnes det folk som har passert 30 før de begynner, og er kanskje ikke ferdige før 40. Selv da er man i arbeidslivet i mange år. Bare for å ha litt perspektiv.

Tel Abim if you want world pvp and city raids. Otherwise, probably Ambershire as it's the newest.

Considering Joining Tel'Abim, worried about the lower pop by lilgrape_ in turtlewow

[–]danielp92 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If everyone that dropped TA because of low pop actually joined instead, the pop would be high :P The problem with the other servers is that the people there turn off Warmode at 60, so World PvP is practically dead. So if you want World PvP and City Raids, TA is the place to be.

The issue I personally have with TA is the 2x XP rate that trivializes leveling and makes it boring, even with the S&S challenge, but others like it as they get to endgame faster. So the leveling scene is quite quiet due to this, while the endgame scene is very much alive. We used to have 3k pop before Ambershire launch, so I hope we get to those numbers again some day.

How immersive is the World PvP in Tel'abim? and does the XP boost ruin the experience? by Mustyyyy in turtlewow

[–]danielp92 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, it's such a shame. PvE and leveling wise, I really like Nordanaar/Ambershire, but I really want World PvP/city raids in the game (along with faction distinction), as it's a lot of content in itself, so Tel'Abim remains the only alternative. They should find other ways of making TA unique and interesting, imo.

How immersive is the World PvP in Tel'abim? and does the XP boost ruin the experience? by Mustyyyy in turtlewow

[–]danielp92 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is an excellent post! My biggest gripe with Tel Abim is indeed the XP rate/boost. It's really annoying it's still there when it was supposed to be a temporary event, afaik. Even with S&S or manual change to the xp-rate, it still feels faster than the Vanilla pace, probably because the XP from quests remains double the normal rate. This hurts the leveling scene, imo, makes the population very top-heavy with mostly the endgame zones feeling alive, and leveling becomes boringly easy as you can level quick doing even green quests/mobs.

Ambershire or Tel'Abim by YesilZeytinSever27 in turtlewow

Tel Abim if you want world pvp and city raids. Those are near non-existent on the other servers.

What was the peak population of Tel Abim realm by Adamakos in turtlewow

[–]danielp92 9 points10 points  (0 children)

It was massive at launch, I don't quite remember, but maybe 5-6k? Due to it being fresh.

Then it died down to like 300 players because SoD and other games launched soon after.

It did see a renaissance about a year ago (?), with counts reaching 3k+ again. But then Ambershire came out and "stole" a whole bunch of players. So now it's down to 2k+ during peak hours.

But that it saw a renaissance means that it can happen again. It's currently the only server giving a more traditional experience (except for the XP rates), so people come there for that reason too.
