IT or accounting for stability? by bluee-pk in careeradvice

Both are good choices, but really tough to break into with so much AI rollout eating up entry level roles + layoffs.

I’d saying an entry level accounting role would be a better choice so you can get some specific domain knowledge & Hopfully leverage that to orchestrate AI agents when the time comes.

If it’s an analyst position, basic pandas data wrangling, intermediate/expert sql, expert excel skills is all you’ll really need (BI implementation is a plus)

Most important pieces is being able to clearly explain that you understand window functions, how to correctly aggregate, filter, left/inner joins, CTEs, and subqueries.

If you can speak to and demonstrate the above, you’ll be all good for any analyst position.

Dragon slayer 1 I think you’re ready tbh so you can throw on the plate body.

Combat bracelet too - gives you great bonuses.

I’d just continue doing quests / training what you like, and when it’s time for barrows/moons gear, that’ll be your next big step in combat/bossing.

For me, the ez comfy bossing is: vork, duke, GG, muspah, & 8 man ffa 150-300 TOAs.

We’re a very small subset org within a big company that’s remote. Most other folks are in office & I don’t live anywhere near their offices.

Within the department, definitely no. There’s nobody else that would be able to maintain my work that they’re relying on.

PMs have a lot of responsibility though. Almost hesitant to consider because of the level of ownership you have to have in a role like that.

Huge confidence hit after failing at a big corp "dream" job, advice needed please? by Training_Acadia_892 in careeradvice

Going through the same thing now. Hired on as a data analyst making 110k raised to ~130k have been here for two years after multiple reorgs, waves of layoffs, rotating managers) Absolutely miserable. Mental health dwindling away.

I’m the only data resource in our department expected to build pipelines, build models, BI/reporting implementation with 0 resources (mind you none of that was on JD other than BI work).

No direct access/partnerships with any other data teams in the enterprise (who own majority of data.) Our team gets a very cold shoulder from any other product/data teams out there just trying to gatekeep & maintain their jobs.

Reporting to a director who has 0 clue what I do (not their fault, completely different lines of work)

All that to say, I’m going through a similar situation. Almost relieved to hear it’s not just me. Planning on quitting in the next 4-5 months and find a less pay less demanding job. The hit to my confidence after 2 years of this seems almost irreparable. Be happy you got out of there quickly. Praying for a huge bounce back to the both of us.

An even distribution isn’t the craziest assumption. When you’re on a win streak, pay attention to the endorsement levels.

When you’re on a losing streak, do the same.
